  • Starring: Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Penélope Cruz
  • Summary: Nine is a vibrant and provocative musical that follows the life of world famous film director Guido Contini as he reaches a creative and personal crisis of epic proportion, while balancing the numerous women in his life including his wife, his mistress, his film star muse, his confidant and costume designer, a young American fashion journalist, the whore from his youth and his mother. Though slightly marred by a clunky structure and a lack of truly catchy tunes, Nine's wall-to-wall first-rate performances from its stellar cast (especially Cotillard) add a touch of class.
  2. 38
In the clumsy hands of director Rob Marshall, this tacky, all-star botch more closely resembles a video catalog for Victoria's Secret.

  1. Yes, "Nine" is not a strong movie and I also agree that Federico Fellini would have despised it. But the veteran actors (especially Daniel Day Lewis) saves the day for the movie. Expand

  2. Page one.. page one… Thiz is totally Hot babes Exhibition. The story centered on Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis), the movie director that experienced mystification between his profession and love affairs around all women he knew in life. Directed by Rob Marshall, known well as CHICAGO (2002) Director which also so musical. Thiz movie casts perfectly by various Actresses, such as: Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Stacy Ferguson (member of Pop Band, Black Eyed Peas), even the senior ones like Judi Dench and Sophia Loren. But I think the best performance is on Marion Cotillard (as Guido wife). Like I though before, the movie will be sort of Broadway Parade. The Dance Choreography shows nothing is new, we already seen it on CHICAGO. The stage setting is also a minus, almost throughout the movie we saw the same stage that Guido play use. The story is rare of conflict. Marshall brings character introduction all over the movie from beginning to the end. We see some kind of American Idol contest on every actress. If the way it is, I think the winner would be on Kate Hudson section which is joyful and glamour. It cross on my mind, thiz movie is just a form of Marshall narcissism. It is very obvious to me, the movie intents to reveal the mysterious-world of women. We can friend with her, kiss her, dance with her, even marry her, but no matter we did, the middle name of a woman it always remains as mystery. 3. Unbelievable trash - Fellini would turn in his grave. Daniel Day Lewis and Kate Hudson will be ashamed of playing in this forever. Judy Dench - totally miscast. Worst musical score I've ever heard. Cheesy, ugly and pathetic. Zero points. Expand
