  • Summary: In this comedy, Emma and Adam are life-long friends who almost ruin everything by having sex one morning. In order to protect their friendship, they make a pact to keep their relationship strictly "no strings attached." "No strings" means no jealousy, no expectations, no fighting, no flowers, no baby voices. It means they can do whatever they want, whenever they want, in whatever public place they want, as long as they don't fall in love. The question becomes- who's going to fall first? And can their friendship survive? (Paramount Pictures)

Ivan Reitman directed, with great verve and unflagging finesse, from a terrifically funny script by Elizabeth Meriwether.

It's a movie benefiting from another sparkling, sexy and emotionally available performance by Natalie Portman.

No Strings Attached isn't a BAD piece of formulaic product.

What's in this cliché grab bag for moviegoers? Well, Portman and Kutcher are a cute mismatch. She's short to his tall, sassy to his sweet, etc. I dried up here. So does the movie.

A foul-mouthed comedy, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. "Bad Santa" (2003) also had plenty of crude language and lewd behavior. The difference is, "Bad Santa" was extremely funny.

Not a bad premise, but material demanding a light touch is weighed down by a desperate desire to fit in, like a little kid swearing to impress the big boys.

On the bright side, Ivan Reitman's disappointing new comedy isn't just cheap and formulaic, but so forgettable few people will even remember she (Portman) was in it.

How the sack does this movie get a 50 around here. This movie was so fantastic. I'm not even sure how some of you call yourselves decent critics. Does every movie have to be groundbreaking to be rewarded? I don't know. I had a really good time watching this. All I had to do was sit back, relax, and enjoy what was in front of me. No need to analyze the entire thing, if I do that, nothing will be peaceful and enjoyable. Expand

This film came as a surprise to me as I expected a stupid film. I saw it two times in about four days and I have to say that i enjoyed it both times and I laughed a lot. It's great to be seen with friends and Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher is a great cinema couple for this kind of films. I liked it and it is not like the usual american romantic films. Expand

"No Strings Attached" is a good Rom-Com but could have been a lot better ! Actually I thought it would be a lot better but it failed ! With an amazing cast like Natalie & Aston the film was quite boring ! It could be a lot more funnier but the script was so weak . Ivan failed to make it better ! Natalie was the best thing in this movie ! Aston was Good and that's it.....

Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman become friends with benefits, promising not to get serious. As in everything else about this movie, the inevitable happens. There's plenty of Kutcher charm and Portman again demonstrates why she's so talented. The supporting characters are almost funny, but director Ivan Reitman has added some comic flair. Overall, it's a predictable romantic comedy that's more about the pleasant performances than the laughs. Expand

Why has Ivan Reitman made this film and how has he made Natalie Portman's character so dislikable. Saying that, Ashton Kutcher's character isn't a blast either. The producers should take a long hard look at She's Out of My League and realise that rom-coms are all about the likability factor within the main protagonists. Expand

Very dull romantic comedy we seen million times before, nothing new, or worth talking about. Natalie Portman is another sex crazed movie, nothing but a predictable dreadful bore. Expand
