EdithI.May 20, 20019This is a superb film which brings vividly to life an almost unbearably intense love between a great artist and the woman of his life. There is enormous integrity in the way the stages of the relationship unfolded. Nothing is sugar coated or glossed over, but on the other hand the sex and violence embedded in the story are not used for effect but to tell the story.

60Like "Pollock," Nora is a convincing portrait of the intersection between creative genius and crazy, all-consuming love.
-
80This nicely acted study of a love that survived all manner of trauma is a must-see for Joyce fans, feminist historians great and small and admirers of the Emerald Isle.
-
80The filmmakers' special triumph lies in the inspired way that in the nick of time it draws its story to a close, with Nora and Joyce struggling toward a new level of understanding.
