  1. Push has a cool, sinewy style, energy to burn.
  2. Imaginatively filmed by Peter Sova, Push has a dizzying, chaotic energy that pulls you along. Paul McGuigan directs with maximum efficiency and minimum use of computers, creating effects that feel satisfyingly tangible.

At the very least, a movie like this requires coherence to stay afloat. Barring that, it needs a star to distract us.

Director Paul McGuigan ("Lucky Number Slevin") has never been keen on plot logic, and that might be fine here if he offered anything other than Peter Sova's lush images of Hong Kong.

Don't listen to the reviews for this movie. This movie is a great time filled with interesting characters in a world that is as mysterious as it is intriguing. I was completely unaware that after watching this movie more than a dozen times that I was being subjected to a bad and tasteless film until I reconnected to the hive mind here. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you passed this movie up just because some jaded film reviewer apparently doesn't remember how to enjoy themselves at the movies. Expand

The critics are being way crappy to this movie. Pshaw! It was good, way better than they say.
  3. Listen. It's not good. But it's entertaining enough.
Dakota Fanning is still creepy, Chris Evans is still hot, and the girl who looks like Sel
ma Blair is downright grody. The logic is crud, but it's not the worst movie I've ever seen. And Hong Kong is pretty, so... Expand

Push sounded like a cool movie when I heard about it. Not long into the movie I realized that I was wrong. It starts with the toolbag main character who is hopelessly dependant on a 13-year-old girl(never a good sign). His moronic friends didn't help much either. Even the fight scenes aren't any good. You can't review this movie without mentioning those two gay chinese guys that scream all the time. Did that seem rascist to anyone else? One of the most satisfying movie deaths in recent memory when one of them got stabbed thru the neck. That was really the only good part. The rest will put you to sleep. Expand
