  1. Push has a cool, sinewy style, energy to burn.

Superhero fans will likely be into Push just for the cool-factor of watching embattled heroes and villains in tense war of wits, wills, and skills. That broader audience is less likely to come along for the ride.
  3. Imaginatively filmed by Peter Sova, Push has a dizzying, chaotic energy that pulls you along. Paul McGuigan directs with maximum efficiency and minimum use of computers, creating effects that feel satisfyingly tangible.

This completely rips off "Heroes," which itself ripped off a great deal from the "X-Men," so no real imagination here...except for the "Sniffs," who creepily track people by smell.

Director Paul McGuigan ("Lucky Number Slevin") has never been keen on plot logic, and that might be fine here if he offered anything other than Peter Sova's lush images of Hong Kong.

Seems to have been made up as it was being filmed.

I saw the original version of this same story 28 years ago. It was called "Scanners" and it blew my mind for real. Push just blows.

This movie is a great time filled with interesting characters in a world that is as mysterious as it is intriguing. I was completely unaware that after watching this movie more than a dozen times that I was being subjected to a bad and tasteless film until I reconnected to the hive mind here. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you passed this movie up just because some jaded film reviewer apparently doesn't remember how to enjoy themselves at the movies. Expand

Push has an interesting concept, strange (but not necessarily bad) visuals and a few actors that do a genuinely good job. However, on thePush has an interesting concept, strange (but not necessarily bad) visuals and a few actors that do a genuinely good job. However, on the other side of the fence there are the actors whose acting is too wooden, the overly colourful (yet drab, no idea how they manage) colours, the inconsistent plot and abrupt ending. I enjoyed Push, particularly Dakota Fanning's (as Cassie Holmes) performance and although I generally dislike super-hero-power movies, this one had such a solid premise that I stuck around and quite enjoyed it. Some say this movie is full of plotholes, I think that they are confusing Deus Ex machinima with plotholes. Everytime the plot needs to be moved forward, some new power, object or person is introduced out of the blue. Doesn't really bother me but some people want more consistency in their storylines and this movie is probably not for them. Expand
