  • Summary: In the futuristic action-thriller, humans have extended and improved our lives through highly sophisticated and expensive mechanical organs created by a company called The Union. The dark side of these medical breakthroughs is that if you don't pay your bill, The Union sends its highly skilled repo men to take back its property... with no concern for your comfort or survival. Remy is one of the best organ repo men in the business. But when he suffers a cardiac failure on the job, he awakens to find himself fitted with the company's top-of-the-line heart-replacement... as well as a hefty debt. But a side effect of the procedure is that his heart's no longer in the job. When he can't make the payments, The Union sends its toughest enforcer, Remy's former partner Jake, to track him down. The sci-fi thriller Repo Men gets off to a sluggish start. But wait. You have to give the movie time to find its groove and establish its premise.

It’s a time-waster with brains, but ultimately not enough brains, and one that wastes too much time.

There is a mild pleasure in the sight of Jude Law pirouetting with a hacksaw through gangs of extras, but the amusement is notional. I actually don’t find him terribly interesting as a kinetic object.

This is not a bad cast, but whatever wit the script aims for is lost in the queasy details director Miguel Sapochnik found more fascinating.
  5. As an account of how for-profit big business literally rips a consumer's heart out, Repo Men is too graphic for me.

Whitaker and Schreiber, both of whom are capable of brilliance, are stuck in one-dimensional roles. It’s not only the characters who have mechanical organs; the film itself is equally lifeless and cold.

Has exactly the same premise (Repo! The Genetic Opera).

I really enjoyed it, and even that strange bit near the end could make me hate it.

I really enjoyed this film. People seem to be taking this film far too seriously. An interesting future concept which held together some unexpected action sequences.

Take it with a pinch of salt and suspend your disbelief. You might just like it.

Although Repo Men is quite predictable and cliche, it's gory and entertaining, and it even has some funny moments in it as well.

A solid sci-fi action film with a pretty cool premise. Jude Law and Forest Whitaker work pretty well together in buddy cop sort of way, Liev Schreiber also does well. The story though is pretty generic and the ending will both surprise and irritate. Expand

Interesting premise wasted on a crappy movie.

The only good thing about this movie is its premise. OH WAIT Repo! The Genetic Opera got there first. The premise sure was original when Repo! first used it. I guess someone thought it would be a good idea to take all the music and enjoyment out of Repo! and replace it with failure. Expand
