Feels more like a postscript than a probing, provocative documentary.

I'd have preferred less personality stuff and more hard information about the current technical and commercial challenges, but if polishing these guys' egos is the only way to make them do the right thing, then so be it.

Revenge is a disappointment. Admittedly, the picture deploys the same kind of cinematic bells and whistles that made "Killed" so enjoyable. But without true tension, the documentary feels as slickly manufactured as its va-va-voom subject.

The resulting puff-piece is a warning to crusading filmmakers about what happens after they’ve beaten the system.

Ultimately, Revenge of the Electric Car is like meeting with an overeager salesman. In real life, that's not necessarily an unpleasant experience, but it also doesn't last 90 minutes.

The documentary soon becomes just a chronologically structured update of continuing progress, one that functions like a mildly engaging but generally inconclusive "Time" magazine feature. Anybody throwing the word revenge around right now is being a tad premature.

Rundown of the electric car market but doesn't deliver anything new than what a casual observer of the trend doesn't already know. There isRundown of the electric car market but doesn't deliver anything new than what a casual observer of the trend doesn't already know. There is also a bitterness to the movie which feels like the personal opinion of the producer infecting the script. It may have scored higher but for the almost hatred shown for carlos the CEO of Nissan/Renault and for the suspiciously complete omission of the Toyota Prius. Not one mention. I am guessing since the film makers were not given access to Toyota and their EV developments that they would have their own 'Revenge' and not mention them. Childish and detracts from what film making should be about. Full Review »
