  • Starring: Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers
  • Summary: Shrek is feeling over-domesticated in the fourth installment. He has lost his roar. It used to send villagers running away in terror. Now they run to him and ask him to sign their pitchforks and torches. To regain his ogre mojo, he strikes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin. The pact goes awry and Shrek must confront what life would be like in Far Far Away if he had never existed. That translates into Donkey being forced into cart-pulling duty, fat and lazy Puss in Boots trading his sword for a pink bow and the underhanded Rumpelstiltskin ruling the kingdom. 1. Hilarious and heartfelt from start to finish, this is the best Shrek of them all, and that's no fairy tale.
  2. 80
More redux than sequel, the final Shrek is more parent- (and specifically dad-) oriented than ever; it may also produce the first twinge of nostalgia in the kids who thrilled to the original at a formative age.
  3. Reveals a definite been-there, done-that feeling.
  4. 25
Tired? This series is as exhausted as Shrek after a day of baby wrangling and diaper changing.

  1. While not good as Shrek 2, I really enjoyed this Shrek, even more than the first one. I really am glad they got rid of the Arthur character, since he was the weak point of Shrek 3. Expand
  2. After watching Shrek the Third, I felt like Shrek may have lost his enchanting touch that was ever-so apparent in the first two flicks. Thankfully, Shrek Forever After brings us back to the old magical roots of fascination and wonder. This film not only teaches us an important lesson, but will also make you ponder how grateful you are as an individual. Expand
  3. Shrek, Shrek 2 and Shrek 3 were great. However, Shrek Forever after is starting to show franchise burnout. I don't blame them for making more movies after the first three highly successful ones, but this latest one was just not as funny as the others. Its hard to make multiple movies over a single good idea I think. Shrek Forever After was not a bad movie at all, but it just wasn't as funny as the first two, it was just mediocre. Expand
  4. The jokes at this point are forced and feel very plastic. The dialogue doesn't flow as it did in the first film.
