Snakes was the most exuberantly trashy delight of this summer movie season or last.
  2. Looming large over all this is Jackson, who glowers and growls and acts the hero better than any actor out there.
  3. Hilariously funny, full of fang-popping scares, and guaranteed to increase travel by train.

Snakes on a Plane is exactly the sort of tasteless, utterly depraved, no-nonsense sluts-and-guts extravaganza it was meant to be.

    1. It has the potential to supplant "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" as the greatest audience participation movie of all time. 2. It is, simultaneously, one of the worst and best movies I’ve ever seen.
  6. This hotly anticipated film delivers on the premise of its celebrated title. But it offers little more in terms of suspense, originality or enjoyment. Mostly, it lays there on the screen like a big lazy boa.

Not since Pet Rocks riveted the nation have so many gotten so excited over so little.

Go see it. Really. It's better than you would expect...a perfect end to the summer movie season.

I saw this film at the 10pm showing, and I was surprised that the theatre was not packed to capacity. However, everyone there was there to witness the beauty and genius that is this film. The gratuitous violence on display, added to the hilarious audience participation ("Snake Vision!!!"), the dramatic irony ("Let's hope this is an uneventful flight"), the wonderful one-liners, the ridiculous characters (OCD rap star, anyone?) made this a fantastic movie. I highly recommend that everyone sees this film as soon as possible. It's that good. Expand

Watching this movie in theaters on opening night is unlike any experience I've ever had in my life. It was SOOOOOO much fun. Seriously, this film means a lot to me. 10/10 Expand

No, it's not the next Citizen Kane, but if you're looking for a really fun, end-of-the-summer thriller, this fits the bill perfectly. Next to Pulp Fiction, this is likely Sam Jackson's best role. He's got style to spare, and his lines are funny as hell. I was at the first showing (Thursday 10PM) with at least 100 SOaP fanatics, which made the experience all the more fun, but there are plenty of "scream" scenes," and probably just as many bust-out-laughing moments. The critics might find some obscure ways to dislike the film, but just about everybody I saw leave the theater tonight had huge smiles on their faces. Don't over-analyze the thing. Just go and laugh and scream with it. I wouldn't call it a horror film so much as a thriller/disaster flick. Definitely recommended. Expand

[***SPOILER***] When you hear the title, "Snakes on a Plane" this is exactly what you hope it will be. It makes all of your funniest jokes about ways to die from snakes on a plane, and puts it to the screen. Jackson is at his campy best, and at his very best when he throws out standard Sam Jackson-isms. And really, who liked that stupid dog? Expand

One of the worst movies ever made. It is a below a B movie if you can believe that.
