  1. Exquisitely moving story.
  2. Even the digressions are funny.
  3. 50
Has some truly touching and funny moments. But it goes on for too long and bogs down in a surfeit of characters and unnecessary subplots.
  4. 30
The best that can be said of Son Of The Bride is that it's attractively photographed. But, then, so was the Hindenburg explosion, and this packs far less excitement into its two shapeless hours.

Some reviews suggested that this movie is overly sappy and sentimental. Perhaps most of us will not be as luckiy as the main characters in getting our lives straightened out but this uniquely poignant film is not implausible and, if nothing else, it offers us hope that we might just be able to get through the difficult business of life feeling a liitle better about ourselves and not so bitter as we might otherwise be.
