Like the drive-in classics of Roger Corman and Samuel Z. Arkoff, this develops the principal characters and conflicts with just enough depth and keeps the narrative moving at a brisk pace.
  2. Unfortunately, while director Steve Boyum is a successful stunt man and off-road biker, his skills do not extend to the relatively passive arena of filmmaking. Somehow, he even makes much of the action static.

For anyone who digs hardcore motorcycle racing, Supercross delivers enough engine-revving, dirt-spewing motorcross action to satisfy even the most intense adrenaline craving.

A poor man's "Lords of Dogtown," substituting hard-core motorcycle racing for extreme skateboarding and featuring a young cast of television-bred actors.

Supercross as an extreme sports movie should be rated with its peers not "Gone With the Wind" I found it depicted "kids" dialogue, lifestyle and racing acurately, was exiting and entertaining. Expand

"Supercross" spectacular racing photography, best during the Las Vegas THQ AMA Championship, makes the film worth seeing. Bright Vegas stadium lights allowed the cameras (including an over-the-stadium cable system) to stop way down and put crystal-clear images on film. Editing added to the extreme. "Supercross" would play best in the theater due to the graphic and solid-clean speedway cinematography near the movie conclusion. A re-edit would improve the beginning of "Supercross." Some scenes that were taken out of the film's beginning were missed, and several that were included lacked film charm. Actors are mostly young and feature talented "unknowns" who may be about to become famous. Ryan Locke and Sophia Bush present solid performances. Supercross racers David Pingree and Tyler Evans show easy acting style. A simple back-in-time romance and a brotherly sub-plot are all the storyline "Supercross" has to offer. The main draw is the richly edited cycle racing film. Expand

Supercross circut racing Finals riders and crowd at the Las Vegas THQ Championship became live "extras" for the night-event film conclusion. High-intensity lighting of the Vegas venue greatly added to the elaborate camera technique expressed by the experienced Stunt Director Steve Boyum. Vivid sharp-focused film and emphatic sound is edited IMAX style. The last twenty minutes of "Supercross, The Movie" are spectacular on the theater screen. Expand

This is junk. Supercross fulfilled everone of my horrible expectations. The scenery was good but the acting was hollow, I could care less about the characters, the script and plot had holes in them and it was just a usual disappointment like so many other pictures in the world. Expand
