Critic Reviews

  1. Cinema's greatest surrealist is at the peak of his powers in the last movie of his unparalleled career.
  2. The lightness with which Buñuel was able to insert the little jokes and knife stabs of surrealism he loved so much is, in fact, divine.
  3. 90
The old surrealist created another masterpiece in this, his final film.
  4. 80
A gem-like, almost hypnotic, tale of an older man's obsession with a young woman.
  5. 60
    Elaborate exercise in frustration.
