  • Summary: A group of five survivors armed with shotguns, axes and machetes wander the back roads of a ravaged landscape looking for refuge in THE DAY, a terrifying look into a post-apocalyptic future. As war ravages humanity, destroying civilization and most of life on earth, the survivors realize they must do whatever it takes to stay alive. Lost, starving, and exhausted, they seek shelter in a seemingly safe abandoned farmhouse. However, while searching for food and resources, they unwittingly set off a trap signaling to their ruthless predators laying in wait to begin their deadly attack. With food and ammunition dwindling, the group must make a desperate final stand—over a 24-hour period—battling for their ultimate survival. (WWE Studios) Expand

Despite being a nasty and skillful action film, The Day goes off the rails in the final stretch.

The Day is not a classic, not by a long shot. But it's not a disaster, either. With movies like this, that counts as a small victory.

Just good enough to engage audiences, but it falls well short of remarkable, leaving viewers wishing for a dawn that never breaks.

Towards the end, you might find yourself thinking, "Well, this could have been worse." And you'll mean it as a compliment.

Almost half a century after "Night of the Living Dead," filmmakers are still misunderstanding how George Romero made his besieged shut-ins compelling.

The Day cycles through bursts of horrific violence only to end much as it begins: static, hollow and vague.

Comes to you courtesy of WWE Films, though it's a considerable departure from their recent family-friendly approach. But it does make sense that the audience for post-apocalyptic films will start out with the Speak & Spell version of this premise, a knuckle-dragging time waster you could predict with your eyes closed. But hey. It's a movie.

This was a nice little surprise of a film as it started very slow and was not attracting my interest but when the action kicked into gear and the audience finally learnt about what's really going on then it never lost my attention! Acting was decent as were the characters, but the general concept and events of the film were what made it so interesting! There were also some nice little surprises along the way that you won't see coming, especially like the first kill! Overall a solid film! Expand
