The high point might be the opening scene, before the stars arrive on screen.

Hiring this sensitive fantasist (Gondry) to make the superhero saga The Green Hornet is like hiring satirist John Waters to make "Rambo." Hard to think of a more mystifying mismatch of filmmaker and material.

A violent, clumsy, jokey, badly-plotted and miscast mess.

Sadly, these small bursts of beauty seemed so at odds with the movie's general crushing mediocrity that they were like quickly squelched protests against it.

Gondry's update of vigilante crime fighter The Green Hornet's escapades is above all an exercise in frustration.

There's nothing here but a concept and a marketing and merchandising strategy, at the center of which somebody - oh, no - had to come up with an actual movie.

An almost unendurable demonstration of a movie with nothing to be about.

Billed as an action comedy, The Green Hornet isn't funny, and the action is often too frenetic to make any impression.

The film's only unqualified success is the end title sequence-because it's genuinely stylish, because it looks like it was shot in genuine 3-D and, most of all, because it's the end.

Such a feeble excuse for an action comedy that it's already taken pride of place in my upcoming worst-movies-of-2011 list.

May not be the most tedious superhero movie ever - the competition is admittedly tough - but it is certainly in the running.

I went to this movie with high expectations after seeing trailers all over TV. I was not disappointed. Once again, the CRITICS ARE WRONG. Geez, how many times have critics underrated movies? Anyways, the movie was great, acting was great, action was excellent, and overall just plain badass and worth your time. Full Review »

Is this an action movie? A buddy comedy? A movie focused on character development and motivations and identity? Overall, there's a little bit of each of the above but not enough of each to make the movie redeeming or engaging. I was bored by the third act. And as with most 3D movies these days, the 3D adds nothing. Full Review »

"The Green Hornet" has so many (green) cliches, even the smartest of the smartest audiences wouldn't understand this piece of crap.
