What matters is that the movie's a blast, right up until its protracted climax.

Mostly he's (Fraser) trapped in a sequel that's too wrapped up in a desire to top itself.
  3. This might all have been silly fun -- as it was in the 1999 version -- except for the carelessness of the whole picture.

  1. The mummified body of Imhotep is shipped to a museum in London, where he once again wakes and begins his campaign of rage and terror.

  2. "The Mummy Returns" returns....This time with terrible acting and a uninspiring plot. Its ultimately your average summer blockbuster.
