Now why did I like this movie? It was just plain dumb fun, is why. It is absurd and preposterous, and proud of it.

When I go to a Mummy movie, I don't want ninjas and yetis and men turned to stone. I want embalmed corpses and hieroglyphics. I want pharaoh. I want pyramids and sphinxes and Ace bandages. Did "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" take place on the Nile?
  3. The movie bogs down in tiresome good guys vs. bad guys action cliches.
  4. 38
Feels perfunctory and obligatory and, despite the return of several familiar characters, is more like an afterthought than an organic third piece of a trilogy puzzle.
  5. For a movie about the undead, this lacks any supernatural chills, and by the time its obligatory final showdown arrives, it seems as hollow as the terra cotta soldiers brought to life by CGI.
  6. As for Fraser, his clumsy humanity is endearing, but by now, assuming he has invested wisely, he should have enough money saved so as to not have to waste his talent anymore.
  7. 11
Little more than a cluttered, noisy, and unsatisfying thrill ride to nowhere.

All there is to It may not be scary, it may have to many effects, it may not make any sense why their calling this chinese emperor a mummy. All there is to say is that this movie is repetitive but sooooo entertaining. It's the most satisfying Mummy movie yet. It looks much cooler, its big, exciting, and full of great action. It's not clunky, it's excellent. Expand

It's the sequel that should have happened the last time around 7 years ago. It's fresh, it's fun, a tad darker than the others, and brings a LOT of new material to the trailer. This is NOT a movie made for a quick buck. I was very impressed after the sneak preview. Rob Cohen has succeeded with TOTDR where Spielberg failed with Indiana Jones. Expand

Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is definitely my least favorite of the series because it seems pointless as the first two said pretty much all Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is definitely my least favorite of the series because it seems pointless as the first two said pretty much all that needed to be said. There's also the issue with Alex aging at an exponential rate. But, when you stop thinking about what's wrong with the film and just enjoy it for what it is, The Mummy 3 is still an enjoyable ride. Filled with plenty special effects, wit, and absurdities to keep you entertained the whole time. Expand

It moves the setting to China, that's a little disappointing but not unforgivable; it ages one character almost a decade while leaving the others unchanged, but with all the ancient mysticism that they have been involved in maybe they don't age anymore; it changed one of the main characters, now what the h***! No back story, no notice, no dramatic character death, no attempt to patch the story at all, it's like the filmmakers just gave up on the story and characters. I mean, this wasn't some secondary character, this wasn't the first sequel, it was the third movie in the series and they swapped a main character, talk about breaking the third wall, they might as well have the characters smile and wave at the camera. This movie could have been great, it could have been fun, but it could never be the "The Mummy". Expand

Except for a fair but well-worn performance by Michelle Yeoh, the cast seems to act without confidence or enthusiasm. Fraser is too old, Maria Bello is too different from Weisz, and Luke Ford looks too inexperienced. Jet Li takes main role credit for playing an ornament. There are some very good visuals and some satisfactory fights, but cannot compensate viewers for the terrible result. On the whole, this fifth installment is nothing more than pointless and old-fashioned, no matter how hard its makers tried to modernize it. Expand

The editing is horrible, screen writer was definitely tunned the whole time ( not in the good way) , and the soundtrack was a complete miss. I wasted my money so you don't have to, seriously don't even rent this rubish when it comes out! Expand

Bad directing, bad dialouge, and hammy acting make this movie's predecessors look like The Godfather Part 1 and 2.
