Great fun, everything hangs together. Dialog is smart, witty and believable. Dennis Quaid (48) does a wonderful job of playing a 30+ ballplayer and it's obvious Dennis is a good athlete himself.

Wonderful heartwarming true story of high school science teacher and coach Jim Morris who taught his team of kids to believe in themselves. They repay the trust by providing Dennis Quaid (Jim) to realize his dream of pitching in the major leagues as a rookie at age of 35 - ancient for a professional ballplayer. Quaid is excellent in the role and does not overplay the part. We learn that with the support of our family anything is possible? Great movie about family values. Expand

  1. Doesn't break any new ground in the baseball movie playbook. However, it does bring it all back home with the assurance of seasoned pro.
  2. The embodiment of the very message it so modestly conveys -- it's the accomplished little guy we fervently root for.
  3. Eschews cliches and cuts to the truth.
