Some stories are more compellingly told than others, but all, like Trank's film, are deserving of attention.
Moving and informative.
It's also frustrating-we long to learn more about each individual. Still, the sheer fascination and profoundly moving power of these stories transcend the film's more conventional limitations.
Goes beyond the well-documented Warsaw Ghetto uprising to take a fascinating look at seven lesser-known individual paths to resistance.
Much of the time, unfortunately, the responsible, institutional filmmaking of Unlikely Heroes, from Moriah Films, an arm of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, does not do full justice to these stories.
These were people willing to take chances. Would that Trank had taken chances in telling their stories.
