Adrien Brody

Biography: Adrien was born in New York City, New York. As a child, he developed an interest in acting/performing and got his first job at the age of 12 as a magician for children's parties. His mother encouraged Adrien's acting interest. He enrolled in acting classes and attended both the American Academy and High School of the Performing Arts. Adrien also has a background in photography due to his mother's job in photo journalism. They would often travel together when she was on assignment. Although Adrien's fame seemed to have spawned from his award winning performance in The Pianist, the now youngest best actor Oscar winner ever has a long resume of TV and films, but his first high profile films include The Thin Red Line and Spike Lee's Summer of Sam. Adrien also co-starred with veteran TV actress Mary Tyler Moore in the short-lived TV series Annie McGuire. When Adrien won best actor at the 75th Annual Academy Awards, he gave a very tearful acceptance speech and acknowledged his good friend and neighbor who was off fighting the War in Iraq. His speech was the longest speech of the night. He even had to shush the orchestra for trying to cue him that his time was up. He received an applause from the audience for doing that. Expand
