Playing a variety of wildly diverse characters on stage, in film, and on television for well over a decade, Beth Broderick is a talented force in today's world of entertainment. As well as her acting abilities Beth is also an accomplished screenwriter, director, entrepreneur and humanitarian.
Beth was born in Falmouth, Kentucky and raised in Huntington Beach California. She graduated from high school at the early age of 16 and went on to attend the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California. After graduating from their rigourous training programme Beth moved to New York to her professional acting career.
However she was not to begin her role of success in the movies until the late eighties when she appeared in Stealing Home with Jodie Foster and Mark Harmon at age 30. Before persuing her career she devoted herself to the AIDS crisis of the early eighties.
Today she continues to be active in the battle against AIDS, educating and bringing awareness about the virus and giving care herself. She is the founding director of Momentum, one of the first organizations in New York established to assist people with AIDS and a founding member of the Celebrity Action Council of the City Light Woman's Rehabilitation Program at the Los Angeles Mission. This provides hands-on service to homeless women, helping them to overcome substance abuse and learn job skills to help them reclaim their lives and families.
As far as writing is concerned, Beth has recently completed a screenplay called Woodrow's Trumpet with her writing partner Dennis Bailey and the two have just presented a reading of the screenplay Three For The Money - a comedy starring Beth, Judith Ivey (with whom Beth worked on The Five Mrs Buchanans) and Jean Smart. Beth also owns her own production company called Regardless Films. Beth is an experienced director in a field of media and recently guided a half-hour pilot presentation, Trio, for Warner Bros. Television.
Despite her success in 20 films for cinema and televsion, Beth still continues to appear as the wise and sultry Zelda Spellman in the hit comedy Sabrina The Teenage Witch providing a very positive role model for the youth of today.… Expand
