Biography: Christian was born on August 18, 1969 in New York City to actor Michael Hawkins and casting director, Mary Jo Slater. Christian has a half brother, actor Ryan Slater.

His first stage appearance was in The Music Man and as a teenager he appeared in the musical Merlin.

Christian has a son (Jaden, b. 1999) and a daughter (Eliana Sophia, b. 2001) with ex-wife Ryan Haddon (Married between 2000 and 2006).

Christian has has been linked to Winona Ryder, Christina Applegate, Patricia Arquette, Nina Huang and Lindsay Lohan. As of 2008, he is dating Tamara Mellon.
