Dick Cheney

Biography: Richard Bruce Cheney served as the 46th Vice President of the United States from 2001 to 2009. He is a Republican, who served under George W. Bush.

He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Richard Herbert Cheney and Marjorie Dickey. His family moved to Casper, Wyoming where he attended High School and the University of Wyoming.
In 1964 he married Lynn Vincent. They have two daughters, Elizabeth and Mary, and five grandchildren.

Cheney first entered the world of politics during the Nixon administration, where he served in the Office of Economic Oppurtunity. Under President Ford, he became the youngest White House Chief of Staff. He served as a congressman for Wyoming from 1979 to 1989. He served as Secretary of Defense under President George H.W. Bush.
