Ewan McGregor

Biography: Ewan was born in March, 1971, in Crieff, Perthshire, just north of Edinburgh to James and Carol, who were both teachers. He has an older brother, Colin, who is an RAF pilot. His mother now acts as his official spokesperon, and deals with his personal appearances and fan mail. As a child, he enjoyed swimming, sub-aqua diving, playing drums, guitar, French Horn and riding. His enjoyment of singing and music took him into a band at 15, the Scarlet Pride. His uncle, Denis Lawson. appeared in the orignal three Star Wars, and this was ann inspairation to Ewan to try acting. When he was 16 years old, he studied at Fife College Of Further And Higher Education at Kirkcaldy, and while doing so, he worked as a stage hand at the Perth Repertory Theatre. During the years 1989-92 He attended Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and one of his contemporaries there was Daniel Craig.. Early in 1988 he madean uncredited appearance in the play Pravda. Immediately after graduation he got a big role in the TV series Lipstick On Your Collar. He met his wife, Eve Mavrakis on Kavanagh QC.. They have two daughters; Esther Rose, born on November 7th 2001, and Clara Mathilde, born in February, 1996. In 2006, they adopted a 4-year-girl from Mongolia, Jamiyan.… Expand
