Biography: Gil Bellows is an American actor best known for his portrayal of Billy Thomas in FOX's drama series "Ally McBeal." He made his debut on American television as a guest star in an episode of "Law & Order." Gil is married to actress Rya Kihlstedt, whom he met in 1991 while they were both working on the Williamstown Theater Festival. They have two daughters together. His most popular movie role was "The Shawshank Redemtpion." Gil attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, California.
