In 2001, Kate auditioned for the University of Wollongong and received immediate admittance for a Bachelor of Creative Arts (3 years) studying Screen Production and Theatre. In 2002 to 2004 Kate also studied Opera & Dance.
In her first year she was performing the role of Vera in Victory of a Straight Line when her now agent was in the audience and signed her on a week after the performance. From there, she attended screen tests for TV series and feature films.
Kate played the role of Susie in Home and Away and two months later she was shortlisted for a lead role in the US TV series The Power Rangers, a role in the feature film The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, and the character Bec Sanderson in Blue Water High. It was an easy decision for Kate to join the cast of Blue Water High and she deferred from the University of Wollongong just 6 months prior to graduating to take the part in the series.
For the role, Kate had to learn how to surf which she found a lot of fun, and didn't think twice about jumping on a board and heading into the surf. Kate is proud to be cast in an Australian TV series and loves playing the role of Bec Sanderson.
Along with being a great actress, Kate is also very musical. She loves to play the guitar and has an amazing singing voice.
