Lil' Wayne

Biography: Lil Wayne was born Dwayne Michael Carter on September 27th, 1982. He was born in New Orleans Louisiana. He grew up in Holygrove Neighborhood in 17th Ward in New Orleans. Lil Wayne joined "Cash Money Records" as a teenager. He joined the groups "Hot Boys" and then he released his first album, "Get It How You Live" at 18. Then he released his second album "Guerrilla Warfare" in 1999. That same year he released his solo album "The Block Is Hot". This album went double platinum and became a top ten hit. His two albums, "Lights Out" and "500 Degreez" released in 2000 and 2001 respectively did not match it. However, in 2004 "The Carter", was a top 5 hit, signaling a new direction for Lil Wayne. In 2005, two mixtapes, "Dedication" and "Drama", established Lil Wayne as a freestyle rapper. "The Carter Vol. 2" and "Dedication Vol. 2" were also hits. In 2006 Lil Wayne worked together with Birdman to release "Like Father Like Son".
