Rachel Sterling first came to Hollywood in 2000 as a lingerie spokes model and pin up model. She began taking acting classes at the Piero Dusa Acting Conservatory.
In a of ever-growing of Hollywood blondes, Rachel Sterling's exotic mix of Apache, Korean and Mexican heritage allows her to stand out in a crowd. Rachel is widely recognized for her role on the comedy series, The Man Show, on Comedy Central.
This ultra-exotic look was exactly what director F. Gary Gray was looking for when he cast Rachel as Assia in the Vin Diesel film, A Man Apart. The role required Rachel to train with choreographer Travis Pain, as well as an Argentine tango instructor. But Rachel is no stranger to dance. Director Dave Myers cast Rachel, for her kitschy dance style, in music Videos such as Kid rock's "American Bad Ass" and Ja Rule's "Between me and you" and No Doubt's "Hey Baby". Dr. Dre also took notice of of Rachel's dance style, as well as her popularity, when he asked Rachel to choreograph a dance number for the Source Awards, based on her performance in in his music video, " The Next Episode". Director Josheph Kann, met Rachel on the set of moby's, "We are All Made of Stars" and cast her as the sexy pom pom girl, appearing with George Michael, in his video "Freek", that was banned from the U.S. On the set of "freek" Rachel caught the eye of famed photographer Ellen Von Unwerth. Ellen was so taken with Rachel that she was inspired to shoot a a book of lingerie pin-ups.
Rachel's acting start came when she stared as the dingy-but darling stripper ,"Cherry", in the Gregory Poirier film "Tomcats". Starring Jerry O'connell and Shannon Elizabeth. She also achieved worldwide fame for her role as Nurse Betty in the skate film Destroying America II. The skate-film-gone-cult-classic also starring Tony Hawk, was so popular that a collector's item skatebord was made in her honor. Rachel has also appeared in numerous commercials, print ads and television shows, such as the WB's "Fastlane", VH1's "Smash", ABC's "Larry Gelbart Project, and the syndicated show "VIP"
When her season as co-host on Showtime's "On the Red Carpet" ended, MTV quickly snatched Rachel up for it's original series, "Burned". MTV viewers got a their daily fix of Rachel on her show and in music videos for Shaggy "Hey Sexy Lady", Kid Rock's "Feel Like Making Love" .
Although her family is deeply rooted in Texas, Rachel calls Los Angeles her home. She is currently a member of the caberet show "The Pussycat Dolls" and training with voice trainer Valerie Morehouse. Rachel still finds time to give back to the community through charity work and fundraising. Rachel also finds time to work on her art book and various projects. She will appear in "The Wedding Crashers" with Vince Vaughn. As well as the new Velvet Revolver video (guns 'n' roses "-Axl) Her background enables her to be a multi-faceted actor. Rachel can play challenging roles yet also make use of her comedic talent.
