Biography: Teri Garr (born Terry Ann Garr in the later 1940s - sources disagree on her year of birth) has been an actress of note on television and film since the 1960s. While never a break-out star, she has played numerous roles (generally as naive and good-hearted women) in some of the best-loved movies of the last 35 years, including Tootsie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Young Frankenstein, and Mr. Mom. She has over 100 television credits to her name, most recently concentrating on voice work for animated series. Teri was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1999, and underwent brain surgery in late 2006, but is said to be recovering well.
