Tyne Daly

Biography: Tyne was born February 21, 1946 in Madison, Wisconsin. Born into a family of several actors, including father James Daly, it is no surprise that Tyne found herself attending the American Musical and Dramatic Academy as well as Brandeis University.

Prior to working on television, Tyne worked on the stage in shows such as 1967's That Summer, That Fall.

She first started to appear on television in the 1970s, when she guest starred on popular shows such as Quincy M.E. and Barnaby Jones. Although she had many guest appearances throughout the '70s, Tyne's real break came when she gained the part of Mary Beth Lacey in Cagney and Lacey in 1981.

Since her role in Cagney and Lacey, Tyne has continued to appear as a guest in several shows.

To older fans, she will always be Mary Beth Lacey but younger fans may know Tyne better for her role as Maxine Grey in Judging Amy.
