Once you start, it is almost impossible to get away from this dynamic cell conquering. Inspired by classic board games like Go, Pathogen builds a new experience by adding modern elements like chain reactions or moving arenas. Brilliant.

It worked on 360 a few years back and it still is a masterpiece: Fez is a puzzling journey through time and space – charming, fascinating and very unique.

Outland took three years to appear on PC but the long wait was absolutely worthwhile. This mythical Jump&Run is as appealing on PC as it was on consoles and is simply one of the best of its kind in recent years.

This is the bag of potato chips for turn based strategists: Once you start, you cannot stop. With aliens, satellites, xeno mass and all the other futuristic flair it not only plays distinctively differently, but culture, ideology, affinities and research are exceptionally connected. You can look forward to a sleepless fall and winter.

There is no hero in shining armor, you don’t even know what the soldiers are fighting for. What matters are you and your bitter fight for survival. Every day is a struggle against hunger, disease loneliness and loss of hope. Relentlessly and without judging 11Bit Studios show the dark side of armed conflicts, the suffering, the scars. It is a software monument against war – brilliant.

This is more than a “definitive edition”. With all additions and improved visuals that didn’t leave a stone unturned even frequent visitors of past-gens Los Santos will find something that will make their return trip worthwhile. And if you didn’t play it yet: Welcome to open-world heaven.

Arcade minimalism close to perfection and manic action: Geometry Wars is back. Seriously: If I hadn't owned a console already I would buy one just for this game.

The new submission system copies a page out of EAs MMA conceptbook, but it works well and adds depth to the already convincing fighting system that gives you loads of options to try and dominate your opponent, regardless where the fight takes place in the octagon.

It is mind-blowing how time flies with this game. At first it seems like Eufloria just offers relaxed zengaming, but the more you look the more entertaining strategy for explorers and conquerors you'll discover.

I've waited a long time for real time strategy that combines the intuitive iPad controls with the complexity you expect in the genre. Now a student project became a great game – congratulations to Touch Dimensions.

This is one of the best 3D puzzlers out there. The sheer genius of a certain Portal is still superior, but Quantum Conundrum is not far behind.

The charming art-design has been refined, surroundings appear more lively, the battles are more diverse, the difficulty level is more challenging, while new towers, units, rewards and unlockables offer increased tactical depth – an installment which clearly surpasses its predecessor.

It is tremendous fun to cruise through a breathtaking virtual Colorado, explore and listen to the fantastic soundtrack. On top of that the brilliant driving physics show that the Forza-DNA is still intact and working. But AI problems, a missing split-screen and the reduction to a maximum of eight players online eventually show that there is still room for improvement.
