Casting morality aside for one moment, GTA: SA is a glorious thrilling ride of delinquency. It offers just enough freedom, and more than enough violence, to make for a truly epic game.

The key to God of War III's success, though - continuing on from that of its predecessors - is how finely balanced it is. So expertly administered are its parts that the repetition one would expect never emerges.

It may however still end up being my game of the year; 8/10 for a £180 game is still a pretty incredible recommendation.

Super fun races with interesting AI and that surprisingly great customisation section.

There are a large number of secret missions for Espers, weapons and general loot, which should keep a completionist playing for a good number of hours, but I can’t help but feel like for all of its production values, depth, and size, Final Fantasy XII tries too hard to reinvent itself, missing those aspects that brought a swarm of fans to the series from FFVII.

Xbox 360 owners can be assured that this is one of the finest, if not the finest, releases for the console so far. It is a celebration of the car, but even more a celebration of the joy to be had in driving.

While there are no songs that give the same sense of glory that More Than A Feeling had in the first game, it offers plenty of fun for the non-musician and musician alike and is one of the better party games available for PlayStation 2.

Rock Band 1 was innovation. Rock Band 2 is perfection. Buy it.

All of the new additions that Lich King provides are expertly executed and will provide hours of new content to seasoned players.

R&C3 is not really a challenging game nor does it try to be, it places key emphasis on being fun and fast paced.

A thrilling action adventure, with plenty of varied tasks, more variable combat, engaging characters and it all taking place in some of the most beautiful locations ever recreated in a videogame. What's not to like.

Certainly not perfect, but it provides an unrivalled single player experience.

I encountered a number of bugs on my play through, to varying degrees of seriousness.

Ultimately, Tecmo have created a game that recreates, and in a none too shallow way, the martial arts action movie experience.

Unfortunately, overall, it just falls short of the mark. Though you'll definitely be aware you're playing a God of War game – so much so that it's hard to write a review without an odd sense of Déjà vu – it makes itself apparent quite early on that it's a diet version.

The Burning Crusade is a must-have, both for ongoing players of World of Warcraft but also the players who got bored at level 60 and stopped playing.

Buy this game. It's as simple as that. It's a masterpiece of design from concept to execution and is my game of the year so far.

The more time you spend interacting with the characters and the world around you, the more you will enjoy the wonderful experience it has to offer. This is a galaxy truly worth saving.

A great round of applause then for DICE for making a game that improves the concept and gameplay as well as Battlefield 2 does it.

Bethesda has done the Fallout series justice and should be proud of the game they made, unfortunately, the scope of the project was too much for them and the PC game felt unfinished in places, but simply outstanding in other areas.

On the whole the writing is poor quality and the dialogue risible, embarrassingly so at times. It doesn't quite make Gears of War seems like a quality drama but it's not far off. At least Gears of War features memorable characters.

With a dark and sombre atmosphere, multi-layered, fluid and ferocious combat and deeply engaging stealth, Batman: Arkham Asylum is the game Batman fans have been waiting for, and more. It's simply a fantastically told, superbly acted and brilliantly realised action adventure.

One of the main things that has kept the franchise going strong is the community and The Sims 2 does nothing to reverse that; quite the opposite. Almost everything can be created or modified now.

Valve has worked wonders translating this game over to Xbox. For Xbox owners who've not tackled the PC original, this is a must-buy game.

If GRAW is as well supported with extra maps and content as Ghost Recon was, this is one of those genuine cases of a game you’ll be playing until a sequel comes along.

Rockstar has embellished the world it created with GTA4 with a story that is not only original in its own right, but functions as another element of Liberty City as a whole. Rather than just a few new missions and weapons, TLAD adds a whole new dimension to the experience, setting a high standard for what DLC should be.

One of the best sports simulations ever released, the on pitch action is convincing and more importantly a lot of fun. Played with friends the game is even better.
