The additions of Game Planning and GameFlow provide a simple solution to a problem that no one realized was actually there. Madden NFL 11 is inventive, intuitive, competitive, collaborative, and, most importantly, a whole lot of fun.

While Plants vs. Zombies lacks the superior control scheme of iDevices (and even a good old fashioned PC mouse), the extra modes are worth a purchase: even if you already own another iteration!

Super Meat Boy is a strong contender for the best platformer this generation. While it does have some fairly difficult moments, all of them are a product of solid, legitimately challenging design.

Any Wii owner who is even mildly interested would do well to pick Bit.Trip FLUX up.

Overall, even without online play, Jamestown is a great title that's worthy of any shmup fan's time. The mechanics are solid, the presentation is great, and the price is right – I can't wait to see what Final Form does next.

Over the course of the DLC, you'll shoot a couple of looters, decipher some puzzles, closely look over photographic evidence, and engage in a few chase scenes: add in a healthy amount of investigatory work and a large shootout, and you have a pretty diverse gameplay array.

FIFA 12 takes realism to an all-time high in sports games. The innovative changes in gameplay mechanics, much needed changes to career mode, and additional online modes makes this one of the most complete FIFA packages to date. If you're a true football fan, you'd be remiss to pass up FIFA 12 - even if you own FIFA 11.

All in all, outside of a few minor issues, I couldn't ask for a better Batman experience. If Arkham City was a graphic novel, it would be considered a classic.

Sine Mora is one of the best shoot 'em ups I've played in a long time. It not only sets the bar for XBLA shooters in general, but visually, it sets the bar for the whole marketplace.

    Fez
Fez is a truly remarkable game, and can be placed in the indie pantheon along with Cave Story and VVVVVV. It provides a unique sandbox to engage in puzzle platforming, and it does that platforming aspect well - if you're fan of the genre, don't miss out on Fez. Let's just hope the sequel doesn't take five years to produce.

While at first glance Diablo III seems to be a step back from it's predecessor, it's actually more complicated, and ultimately, a more satisfying experience.

Nuanced and evocative storytelling, a well-executed presentation, and gameplay designed to capitalize on the uniqueness of the development platform all combine to make Spider the best game I've played on the iPhone to date.

Although it can get repetitive at times, Dust is easily the most charming game in the entire Summer of Arcade. In fact, it's one of the most enjoyable Metroidvania/action RPG games I've ever played.

Overall, I found myself stopping to smell the roses on a number of ocassions, attempting to raise my Badass Rank just for fun. Even in the more run-of-the-mill areas or quests you might encounter during the game, these challenges help keep things interesting.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is challenging, satisfying, and heartbreaking. It's also one of the best strategy games this generation, and potentially of all time. If you're itching for a game that will either last you a long time, or challenge both your mind and your fortitude, this is it.

Revengeance can now be considered part of the pantheon of action games, right alongside of Devil May Cry 3, Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden, and other classics. Platinum created a deep and rewarding combat system, layered it on top of an action packed story that captures the most outrageous moments of the Metal Gear Solid series, and added their own signature mark.

Tomb Raider is the second best Uncharted game behind Uncharted 2. While it gives up a lot of its adventure identity fans have come to know and love, the end result is still a fantastic game that shouldn’t be missed by any action fan. If Crystal Dynamics can inject more adventure elements into a potential sequel, it would be a pretty interesting proposition indeed.
