Clearly, the game is designed for younger players in mind (although that seems somewhat at odds with the older crowds that Rango is attracting in the theaters). The game is just a scant five hours long and the lack of extra gameplay modes drags the game's replay value down considerably.- Posted Mar 18, 2011

I would recommend renting Major League Baseball 2K11 if you have an Xbox 360 to get a feel for the game and see how much you are willing to put up with. If you have a PS3, you obviously need to buy MLB 11: The Show instead of this game.- Posted Mar 21, 2011

This pick-up-and-play title offers up more than enough challenge to keep you busy but enough charm and enjoyment to keep trying when hitting a brick wall. Though there's a high level of frustration in places, as levels take on the ridiculous difficulty of bullethell shmups, with practice and patience, you can master the swarm and have fun doing it.- Posted Mar 27, 2011

As a first try out of the gate for Eutechnyx, NASCAR 2011: The Game holds up moderately well. That being said, they will need to work on building a more in-depth career mode and a much smoother multiplayer experience if they really want the franchise to take off next year.- Posted Apr 19, 2011

For all that's good about this game, the way the content is locked down and cut down (from the previous version) hurts the end product, and the unique pricing structure makes it all too easy to be cynical about it all. That said, if you want to enjoy good motocross racing (and especially if you're a fan of the sport) this is probably your best bet. At the least, it's a relatively cheap option.- Posted May 24, 2011

In the end, it's hard for me to recommend Infamous 2. If you played the first one, you'll want to play this in order to get the conclusion to the story. However, the lack of real innovation may be a turn off, and makes the second go through a real chore. For those reasons, I'd recommend that players rent this one.- Posted Jun 17, 2011

It's very easy to admire Child of Eden. The artistry of its sound and visuals, the simplicity of the gameplay, and the Kinect integration all combine to make a game that should be experienced by anyone who spent their hard earned cash on the device. However, its short length and various control snafus make it difficult for me to recommend it as a purchase. In truth, this feels like a very sharp, very polished Xbox Live Arcade game.- Posted Jul 5, 2011

As a fan of role playing games, it pains me to see Two Worlds released in such a haphazard condition. One of the biggest problems with the game is its length, clocking in at about 4 to 6 hours depending on your difficulty preferences. I'm curious if Obsidian led off with their weakest Fallout Vegas add-on pack as the repetitive, frustrating gameplay emphasizes the weaker elements of Fallout: New Vegas and seems even more buggy than the actual game. Akimi Village is a very basic game that will only appeal to a certain type of gamer. One who is willing to invest a decent amount of time into restoring the vitality of a world, through repetitive actions. Due to this and its aforementioned issues, it's hard to recommend to anyone other than the hardcore life simulator fans.- Posted Jul 5, 2011

Free Radical and Ubisoft missed quite a few things in the quality assurance department with this one and it would seem that the project was rushed somewhere along the line. -

It is a very standard RPG and gets repetitive with a generic combat system. The dungeons are similar from dungeon to dungeon. There are no puzzles or complex tasks required. -

Gyruss is a complete waste of 400 marketplace points. Any feeling of nostalgia is lost in the sluggish shooting control, poor visual design, and average online gameplay. -

If you are looking for a game experience similar to recent Final Fantasy games, you will ultimately be disappointed with Radiant Dawn. However, if you craved focused gameplay and a story without embellished full voice acting or tons of FMV cut scenes, then Radiant Dawn fits the bill. -

Sticking way too literally to the idea of the Little League World Series means there's hardly enough "game" here to interest any adult looking for baseball action, while the complexity of the pitching controls might be enough to turn off kids who like the anime looks of the game. -

If you have a kid and are already planning a trip to Six Flags, this is a solid pick-up, as this $25 game has a $30 kid's admission voucher in it (if you go before the end of 2009,) so it's basically like getting the game for free. Just be prepared to hear complaints from a soon-to-be bored child a few days after purchase. -

Even more mind-boggling, why would Atari release this pile of drivel when they had such a good thing going with Ghostbusters: The Video Game? It's a crass, extremely rude money grab that's designed to suck $10 out your pocket while simultaneously giving the middle finger to our aging Ghostbusters. EA's biggest problem with Madden NFL Football is that it insults fans of the series by only offering a shell of the NFL game they love, but while charging them the price of a full featured release. Truthfully, this game is worth about 50% to 75% less than what EA is currently charging. Just look at Madden 11 for the iPhone, a version with a similar feature set, plus multiplayer, priced at $7.99.- Posted Mar 28, 2011

Ultimately, The Sims is a game you can lose yourself in, as you get caught up in the antics of the little digital people you've created. You share their hopes, their fears, their ups and downs. Or, at least, you can do that on the PC. On the 3DS, you mainly have to mop up a lot of messes, half of which are created by your Sim wetting themselves. It's about as fun as it sounds.- Posted Apr 12, 2011

Call of Juarez: The Cartel makes a lot of mistakes. Changing the setting from the wild west to the modern day was the first sign of trouble, but it was by no means the last.
