The premiere should please fans who consider Battlestar Galactica a landmark and entice newcomers to look at previous seasons on DVD.
  2. There are many small and wonderful dramatic accomplishments in the underappreciated gem that is Battlestar Galactica, but perhaps the most enduring is that what was conceived of as an epic space adventure has turned into a finely detailed, intimate drama.

The series' brilliant conceit is that enemies are often sane and rational, and many good guys and gals are obsessed, flawed, and ruthless.

Though Sci Fi only sent one Season 4 episode for review, it looks as though the prodigal pilot, as well as the rest of the Galactica crew, is in for a bumpy ride.

  1. Things are coming to a head for the characters of Galactica, with Starbuck's mad quest, grumblings of rebellion among the fleet, and the shocking revelation of the final five (in one of the greatest scenes ever put to film.) I found this season to be a seamless continuation of the BSG story and an edge-of-your seat political thrill ride. Collapse
  2. best show ever, no doubt about it. consistantly excellent even tho the last season went off the rails a little (4 is the last season not 5 so not sure why MC has that down?) Great acting , great set pieces throughout - just watch watch watch (and from the beginning!) Expand

Much more slowly paced than seasons one to three, the opening chapters of Battlestar Galactica season four focus on people and faith. Perhaps something of a disappointment to those who've enjoyed the fast pace, military sci-fi and biting political drama of earlier seasons. Expand

What was a promising show ends in flames. Not enough imagination, too much space soap opera. The line between cylons and humans merge and there really is no difference. The contrast between machine and man from earlier seasons is lost. Everyone acts the same way. The mystery of the cylon is completely shredded by writers of the show. They show no characteristic of their condition or background. All Cylons act like they just walked out of an episode of a reality show in the year 2008. Maybe the show is running out of money, maybe the show want to reach more audience, but at least think first before making crap up on the spot. Expand
