It has wit, humor and a set of flawed but likable and offbeat characters not unlike the ones on the sophisticated "Arrested Development."

Better Off Ted is certainly the most original sitcom to come along in a while.
  3. Better Off Ted may be a little too right for comfort about the work many of us do and the lives we live. But it's also funny.

The new ABC show is significantly better than its corny title promises.
  5. At its best, Better Off Ted is like some of the better new comedies on NBC and CBS, shows that blend mordant satire with odd, endearing characters that viewers want to keep watching. Ms. Anders in particular is a very funny, appealing actress who makes even dull patches of dialogue amusing; Mr. Slavin and Mr. Barrett bring comic heft to their small roles.

Honestly, it's a complete oddball with some charm and a few good lines.
  7. Hip TV heads may see strains of "Andy Richter Controls the Universe," a 2002-03 workplace quirk-a-thon that was seriously more amusing because its absurdity sprang from its central character's vivid fantasy life, not from a reviled institution.

One of the best comedies I've seen on TV in a long long time. That guy Malcolm Barrett is hysterical. He's the AT&T / Bud Light guy.

Easily the most interesting and original comedy in years. I enjoy the clean humor and depth of character, oh and Rose, she is adorable. "you don't freeze people who come to your daughters birthday party". I hope the show doesn't decline to fast, I imaging this kind of show is difficult to keep fresh. Expand

It's really getting its groove on as the weeks pass. Good pacing, genuinely funny, well played and the refreshing feel of a team of players not content with just filling in the dots. Salt & Peppa lab buddies are pure gold. Expand

Fun, different, completely original, and a great cast. Not much direction but it doesn't need it. Due to it not being a drama about Docs, Lawyers, or Cops i give it one to two seasons before the network pulls it for yet another crappy rip off of Law and Order (which is still the best procedural cop show on TV). Awesome, funny show. Great characters. Such a pity it was canceled. These days it's getting to the point where I wait for series to get canceled before I start watching it. Expand

If this is supposed to be a comedy, then where are the jokes? Where were the funny situations?
