As with his earlier shows, "Hopkins 24/7" (2000) and "Hopkins" (2008), Wrong has structured these stories masterfully. Nothing seems wasted, nothing is superfluous. As a result, the hugely important work these people do is honored in every shot.
  2. 100
It's amazing stuff. Totally engaging. And completely worth watching.
  3. Boston Med operates at the edges of real life in a way scripted shows can only approach. It is the single must-see broadcast-TV show of the summer.
  4. 100
In the weeks ahead, there is a tremendous amount of not-to-be-missed drama--including the area's first face transplant.
  5. This latest production from Terence Wrong and ABC News is as ambitious as it is thrilling, a beautiful collage of life-and-death drama, raw courage, medical miracles and human foibles.
  6. 90
Boston Med reminds us that truth is often much more compelling and affecting than recycled fiction. Nothing is heightened or cheapened with newsmag-style manipulation on this series.
  7. 88
It was filmed over four months and distilled into eight episodes, with brilliant results.
  8. If you don't tear up at least once during each episode, you've already coded. "Boston Med" is the cure for summertime TV blues.
  9. The cases (a baby at risk, a man with lung cancer, an unconscious drunk) are surprisingly moving, the editing only mildly manipulative, and you genuinely feel there's an element of reality to the show, a rare trait indeed for reality TV.
  10. While capturing all this with seemingly unfettered access, Wrong finds the little dramas that provide insight into what it's like to be a resident at one of the world's premier teaching hospitals.
  11. Reviewed by: Brian Lowry
The storytelling is spare, with few of the by-now customary compromises to reality-TV (or dramatic expectations weaned on "ER" and "Grey's Anatomy"), other than the oncamera interviews and musical flourishes that close each hour.
  12. 80
Truly there can be something rich and lovely about hospitals, and there is something rich and lovely about Boston Med.
  13. What could have easily become a pandering hybrid is in fact intelligent, emotionally resonant television.

As a resident physician this show is an embarrassment to the medical community. I only wish I could have back the time I wasted watching it.As a resident physician this show is an embarrassment to the medical community.
