  1. It's a serialized mystery that pays off your devotion.

This is the kind of show in which seeing new cast member Timothy Olyphant stare at Byrne from across a grief-support-group circle feels like both an act of violence and empathy, and this is before you even know who the hell he is. Since this is the secret-filled Damages, chances are we may never fully know. Would you want this knife’s-edge thriller any other way?
  3. 80
The series retains its challenging, jumping-through-time storytelling.
  4. The second season has style and suspense, but it’s harder to keep viewers guessing when the characters are so familiar, and the time-scrambling format is no longer as novel.

I love that it always leaves you hanging and thinking you have figured it out and it still manages to surprise you.

While there are some first class actors in Damages, the writing leaves something to be desired. There's just something terribly unreal about how the dialogue is constructed with its momentous dramatic pauses. Compare this to the effortless dialogue in Friday Night Lights, for instance. There is just no comparison between television greatness and the heavy breathing which Damages promotes. Expand
  4. I love Damages but not this season. While S1 and S3 were well thought out, well paced and built up to a satisfying finale, this season was overly complicated, too many characters and an ending that just seemed put together with no real planning behind it. It would be useful also if people didn't rush to give Damages a 10 score after one opening episode! Expand
