Critic Reviews

  1. Toward the end of the second episode, two characters who have no business acting chummy with each other get in the back of a car together and do exactly that. And rather than make me eager to pop in my screener of the third episode (which I did, eventually), it just killed all the buzz I had built up to that point.
  2. The second season has style and suspense, but it’s harder to keep viewers guessing when the characters are so familiar, and the time-scrambling format is no longer as novel.

I love that it always leaves you hanging and thinking you have figured it out and it still manages to surprise you.

I love Damages but not this season. While S1 and S3 were well thought out, well paced and built up to a satisfying finale, this season wasI love Damages but not this season. While S1 and S3 were well thought out, well paced and built up to a satisfying finale, this season was overly complicated, too many characters and an ending that just seemed put together with no real planning behind it. It would be useful also if people didn't rush to give Damages a 10 score after one opening episode! Full Review »

Best Show On TV!!! The heart of this series is the script. The dialogue of this show is smart, suave, exciting, and of the quality of a Coen Best Show On TV!!! The heart of this series is the script. The dialogue of this show is smart, suave, exciting, and of the quality of a Coen Brothers screenplay. The production is movie-like and provides twists and turns that leave you shocked, entertained, and fully engaged. The terrific acting (especially Close, Hurt, and Olyphant) is better than some of the best peformances in Oscar-Winning movies. Everyone down to guest stars turn in a career best performance. This is for people who respect the excellence of movies and television. Not To Miss (unless you are a total freak). Should be 11 out of 10. Full Review »
