Season 2 is a statement of understanding as much as it’s a means to help viewers engage with what’s happening in American culture. Simien and his talented writing staff, directors, and cast are more confident with a season under their belts, and that conviction burns through the screen.
Dear White People has leveled up in quality during its second season--no small feat considering how consistently strong it was during its freshman outing.

This show is incredibly witty and the dialogue is deep, clever and at the same time very attuned to adolescent pop culture. I love it so much, took me right back to my college days. Also, kind of reminded me of Dawson's creek in that all the kids are wise beyond their years, but Dear White People is much more poignant, the issues are larger, but that reflects reality. POC don't really get to grow up in the same world as white people. Man, I hope they make more shows like this, it's so worth watching.

SEASON 2
It's not a show you put on that can play in the background while you make a sandwich. It demands attention, but if you "watch closely" as the narrator tells you, you may just get something out of Dear White People. It's entertaining as well as thought provoking, and funny without being jokey, but more importantly it leaves you wanting more, which is really what you want out of a show.

The season does sag a bit around 206-7, but it’s forgivable given how fascinatingly it ends, with a series of episodes that are moving, funny, and brilliant.
Maybe Dear White People isn't sure yet how to also be a generation-spanning mystery. Watching the show built over two seasons leaves me with little doubt that Dear White People can grow into that genre as well. In a Too Much TV landscape, Dear White People is a show I didn't write about at all in its first season, but it has become one of the best things on TV and deserves to be discussed as such.
The series is both emotionally resonant and thought-provoking when motivations are complicated by personal experience, such as Sam's biracial parentage, or Coco's resentment of her white peers.
The series doesn’t always perfectly balance its vibrant sense of humor with its more serious interrogations. But for the most part, it’s as entertaining as it is pointed, deepening the topics of Season 1 by alluding to the reality outside the show.
It would be great if we could get 10 more episodes of Dear White People as fast as humanly possible, so as to snack on another round of these addictive, delectably formed installments.
You will struggle to find a character who you completely agree with in this show. And that is why it is so good.

While i can understand the draw this is just a show that never really lands for me. It feels scattershot and the way it's shot frustrates me. Characters seem like loaded stereotypes of our generation without the humour to make doing so not cringe.

Reviews are clearly fake. This show is garbage, and its second season is as bad and disgusting as the first one. Its a racist, humorless, bad acted, and unrealistic show with no possible redemption whatsoever. It has, without a shadow of a doubt, an inherent worthless and repulsively obvious political agenda which is outstandingly annoying, no matter your own political views. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, this is crap.
