With Full Frontal, TBS truly has a comedy show that’s sure to become part of the cultural conversation and possibly fill the void felt by Jon Stewart‘s departure. There’s so much scathing, insightful, intelligent funny packed into Full Frontal and Bee’s ability to land a joke is beyond impressive.
Samantha Bee’s Full Frontal debuted last night with an acerbic, bracing premiere that felt like, in the best way possible, a much-needed slap in the face.
Constantly ripping on the prez is getting old. I bet this wench watches cnn constantly.
I bet nobama or pig hillary could do no wrong for this non funny fake blonde.
Lets see some skits on how illegals steal from the US citizens, make medical costs sky rocket, and make your kids get less out of their learning in school due to teacher dealing with non english speaking illegal rats.
Get this garbage shoe off the air.
I and my many liberal friends love her show. I think there is a troll campaign against her judging from the criticisms on IMDB and the negative ones here. If not trolls then I think her satire must hit the mark on the people who are giving her 1s and 0s.
Every one-liner felt honed and briskly funny (describing Donald Trump as a “human caps lock”), and throughout, Bee exuded the quiet confidence that makes her a natural for this gig. Yes, it’s great to have a woman in the late-night fray; it’s also great to have someone who knows what she’s doing. If Full Frontal continues with the format it debuted this week, it’ll quickly become appointment TV for the political-comedy crowd.
If Full Frontal were going to be on every night, I would say, unreservedly, that it had a fantastic beginning. It seamlessly did in its first episode what The Daily Show With Trevor Noah has had a hard time doing for more than four months: altering Jon Stewart’s M.O. to reflect the interests and passions of a new host, while maintaining enough of Stewart’s intelligence, fire, and aggravation to keep the show urgent and scathing.
Unlike the sweeter, sillier, less edgy comedy often practiced by Daily's new host Trevor Noah, Bee came out in full attack mode--intense, a little profane, and frequently hilarious.
It felt fresh to have a woman (finally) hosting a late night show.
Sam Bee is fearless to tackle sensitive subjects and makes a point like a surgical incision.
The segment about the Syrian refugee camp in Jordan (episode 31 if I'm not mistaken) is extremely heartfelt, informative and at the same time, showcases the misinformation and/or agenda of public figures (TV pundits and politicians) in a genius way. One of the top moments of television in 2016.
While Trevor Noah still trying to find his voice and shape a post-Jon Stewart The Daily Show, Full Frontal arrives as a strong contender to - along Last Week Tonight with John Oliver - become a cultural reference for informative humor.
Full Frontal with Samantha Bee is good when it's trying to be funny and painful when it's endorsing Hillary. It can have some really awful moments but there is more good then bad in this show.
Boring and biased If you are a Hillary loving tree hugging hippy then I guess watching Trump GOP bashing cop killing is what you like and think is funny so enjoy. Other than that, just boring unfunny biased liberal media propaganda. That you can see on all the Jon Stewart run PAC money crap. From Jamal Belle to Steve Colbert just same crap repackaged and spoon feed to there brain dead audience. So if you enjoy standing on street corners holding up signs this is the cheerleader you need. As for me I find it stale and passe
Could have been a good show and Samantha had promise but proved to be what she portrays; mean spirited, snarky and biased. Where does this sell? I've not seen this approach work yet. Stewart was close because seemed sincere but even he lost much of his early audience being overly biased. I think he filled his studio with the same slap-happy seals with which Maher laces his seats. You can't continue to be dishonest to the audience and expect them to return, even if they agree philosophically. It gets embarrassing as a while. Don't you guys see that?
Well done but propaganda, distortion & bias heavy.
I think news based comedians could do better with a more nuanced view. Yeah the Republican spokespeople often get things crazy wrong but there is often elements of truth in their worldview that are wilfully or ignorantly overlooked by those that disagree.
The truth in things usually finds itself somewhere in-between. I am a little sick of people using every bit of opportunity they have to push their own bias and viewpoints rather than take people to truth. Think I will be switching off.
John Stewart & the Daily Show under his stead managed to find the balance a little better IMO.
