Grimm is not a profound show (what is?), but few are more purely entertaining--engaging, clever, tense, funny, well paced and featuring a remarkably appealing cast as the friends and colleagues who help Nick.

When it started out, Grimm was kind of a weird show with an interesting premise - what if the fairytale world was real but only a few knew the truth?

The premise was interesting, but sounds odd on paper and it seemed like the first season spent too much time on the hum-drum daily aspects of the show and did not build longer, deeper story elements.

The second season changed that, adding subplots and filling out the series into a fleshed out, well written, and very entertaining drama. Season three only built on it, giving us new challenges while wrapping up the old.

Is it perfect? No. There are times when the characters seem to take offense too easily, after all they have been through with each other, and some of the subplots have just kind of evaporated.

All in all, though the premise is rather odd, it is well worth checking out. Just be sure to watch the summaries of the first three seasons before the fourth airs!

Season 3 swerves off the beaten path to explore subtext.

Up until season three there has only been one Grimm (with an implied second

There can be only one does not apply here.

There are too few episodes per season although more than the pittance that socialist states offer (sherlock: 3/season)

If you're a fan of supernatural shows this one should be put on your weekly watch list. I hope it continues to do well. Every season gets better than the last and I look forward to a season 4. Expand

The show had a few fundamental flaws when it premiered season one. Otherwise, it showed great promise. Instead of fixing these flaws, they decided to pander to the lowest common denominator and churned out something that has progressed towards being extremely mediocre. I'll give it a 4 for effort.

D- at best for sloppy narrative, unappealing characters, excessive use of "flashbacks" and uninspired cop drama.
