The show has some hilarious moments and perks along between them as you might expect a Drescher show to. It's a fine and frothy companion to the big show on TV Land (is that an oxymoron?) at 10 p.m. Wednesday, the Betty White-starrer Hot in Cleveland.
THIS IS AN AMAZING SHOW!!! I SIMPLY LOVE IT! I watch it all the time and I hope it stays on air for years. I love Fran and her voice! she's just amazing!!! I love watching her on t.v, I crack up every time i watch it and it cheers me up all the time! im always excited to watch it! I just can't get enough of it. I'm so glad she did another sitcom! THANK YOU SO MUCH FRAN!!!!! AND PETER!!!:) GREATEST SHOW EVER!!!
THIS SHOW IS BRILLIANT! Should be on for an hour instead of 30 min! I had to write this as each actor is brilliant on that show. My daughter and I watch it religiously & it makes our entire week! We cant wait till the next week comes to see the next show! I wish it never goes off the air! Fran is a genius! The cast is incredible/JohnMIchaelHiggins makes us want to hug him! Rita Moreno cracks me up so much/brilliant again, the father, just a fantastic story line. Makes us laugh and feel good. Im a tough critic in general, and I loved The Nanny, but this is even more fantastic that that show! Ive turned so many people on to The Nanny, and now Im telling everyone about Frans new show. Give me more, Its not enough! I want more Fran! 30 min is not enough, and this show has been written brilliantly, the laughs are plentiful, and it fills the soul with joy. Thank you Fran and Petie! :) Love you so much.
Happily Divorced, TV Land's third shot at a new old-style sitcom--the George Segal parents-and-son romp "Retired at 35" is the other one--tries harder than "Cleveland" and generates fewer laughs. "Happily Divorced" is not without its pleasures.[...] Okay, Drescher, who most famously starred in "The Nanny," may be an acquired taste. But if you like her combination of attitude and accent, she provides a full dose of both here.
If you love Fran Drescher, and just the sound of her voice sends you into peals of laughter, happily settle in to enjoy her divorce. If, however, her voice makes your inner dog howl, run like your rear is on fire.
Though the series is based on the friendship Drescher developed with her real-life husband after he realized he was gay, there's not a second of the debut episode that feels like it has any connection to actual human behavior.
The premise's autobiographical underpinnings notwithstanding, Divorced is so painfully broad and filled with gay stereotypes all but Drescher's most faithful fans will yearn to be separated from their TVs.
It's a Hit!!! i loved every second of it the funny punch lines the witty remarks and frans nasal voice was just so beautiful to hear love it so much !!!!!
Happily divorced has a premise that evokes immediate laughter. After years of marriage, the husband comes out of the closet and remains living in the same house with the wife. Sitcom gold.
I went into the show hoping one thing, "I hope it's not just a bunch of **** jokes."
Well, it's not JUST a bunch of **** jokes, but there are plenty of them. There's some good sitcom humor too, enough that I stuck it out for 3 episodes hoping it would get better. Unfortunately, TV Land's latest attempt is a failure. They should just make Hot in Cleveland 2 hours long and forget any other original programming.
I'm simply editing because, for some reason, my rating of this catastrophe is showing up as a positive. That is not a word that could be associated with this show except in the context of how sure I am that the show is a dog. You TV Bland plants need to piss off.
