Perhaps as the interplay between the World War II setting and other Marvelverses continues, we’ll see that the creative team learned from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,’s early stumbles, so the new show is more mature, and ready to hit the ground with its Enfield No. 4s blazing.
The events of season 1 have changed everything so the cast faces new obstacles and old problems. Shield is official disbanded and our team tries to continue as black ops while being hunted by the government and agency. They are still the good guys but face a lot of troubles while protecting the people and world. This season has again great stories and twists that are as amazing as hard hitting. You will be surprised a lot of times and I think overall it has the most amount of shocking twist of the show so far (I am at the end of season 4 at the moment). Also Hydra is not destroyed like the mythical Hydra it is not enough to cut of a head. You will learn a bit about their history and goals as all you knew is just one side of a coin or one head of a multi-headed mythical Hydra;-). Like every Joss Wheadon and I think should add Jed Wheadon show it has a strong cast of characters. I was always fully immersed and cared for them. The new additions also worked really well and I salute to the whole team for giving us such a great cast / performance. Phil Caulson played by Clark Gregg is great and has good arcs in the show. Sky played by Chloe Bennet has the biggest arc and character development this season. Finally we know why Melinda May played by Ming-Na Wen is nicknamed the cavalry. It is such an excellent, emotional and tragic story that explains her characters baggage and fits really good in the story (Episode 17 Melinda). I cant talk much about Grant Ward played by Brett Dalton without spoilers but say he will be the mayor character in season 3 and is set up her. Leo Fitz by Ian De Caestecker delivered the best performance. He suffered brain injuries at the end of last season and still recovers. They put a lot of care and research into it to give a correct representation. I am still amazed how good it works and how I was invested in his troubles (I could feel his pain and struggles). Jemma Simmons evolved since the beginning and will continue. Like in season 1 I always waited for her or / and Fitz to finally make the first step;-). For the new characters we got Alphose MacKenzie. He won me easily over and became a great character and stayed until the end of the show. Lance hunter by Nick Blood is like an uncut gem. He is definitely someone you want on your side but must also be careful. There is another female character I wont mentioned because it will be a spoiler but praise her performance. There are other side characters I enjoyed like Raina, General Talbot, all members of the Koenigs, Calvin Johnson (such great acting), Carl Creed, Jiaying and Lincoln Campbell who we might see more later on. There is a great cast and the chemistry is excellent. The backstories, development and interactions kept me always engaged and I want to see more. The special effects are amazing for the show but the choreography for the fights is even better. I was always impressed how good it looked and how you can feel the impacts. I finally decided to stop naming my favorite episodes completely for this show (Abandoned it just for season 1). I recommend watching all episodes as to get more out of the character development, twists and revelations. They set up things so excellent like for examples Melindas backstory was mentioned for 38 episodes with some small bread crumbs from time to time before you get the reveals. The is an easy must see recommendation for me.
I am really disappointed with the start of the second season, with the powerful appearance of grant ward character in first season , it is sad that this show is not using this character to make it interesting, at least making him side with hydra would have made this show some what thrilling !!! But with the constant introduction of new characters and by constant stretching of the episodes and with expected endings. This show is making me question myself , why the hell am i watching this ???
hey marvel, we're not in 90's anymore. Your series have all the problem of this era : bad script, character are inconsistent (scientists are geeks with glasses... says it all), everything (or mostly) is shot at studios, all sounds fake and you have the feeling having seeing this millions times. Marvel think people watching series don't have any expectations... DC surpass easily marvel on television with more mature series (arrow suffers some of the same problems but still is more enjoyable to watch). So i wait for daredevil that looks not speak to a younger public
