An absolutely shocking season premiere. Kurt Sutter does a great job of setting up a villain for each season with a whopper of a first episode. It's going to be great to see Tag on a rampage. That guy's potential for fury seems limitless.

I had to give this a few episodes to give my opinion on it. So far, as of the premiere it wasnt as good as previous seasons, but then it got progressively better, and the 3rd episodes was excellent, sad and shocking, but excellent. Kurt Sutter never ceases to amaze me with SOA. This show is so great, it does what most other shows dont have the guts to do, kill fan favorite characters continously and it still shocks you when it happens again! SOA is just pure genius, maybe not the whole time but overally the show is genius and great entertainment, cheers to a great season! 7.5/10 Expand

Very strong premiere episode. Very absorbing. Looks like this season could go into some interesting directions. Hopefully not to end in a cheap and tidy way like last season though. Some very cool new characters introduced too. One of them seemingly a little too much like Gus Fring from Breaking Bad though. Not that that's a bad thing exactly.

Continues to be a fantastic show. The plot is just so absorbing it's insane, the acting is really good, and the direction is always top-notch. It is hard to find any faults in the show at all.

The season five premiere of SOA was, to say the least, AMAZING. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. This promises to be the best season to date.

This series has become progressively stupider every year it's been on. It's literally gotten to the point where it no longer matters what ridiculous, unbelievably impossible situation the characters have gotten themselves into. If one of them is arrested for murder, discovers they have cancer, and has their head bitten off by Godzilla in the first ten minutes of the episode, you can rest assured that all of their problems will have magically resolved themselves by the last ten minutes. Yet another show that has absolutely no basis in reality whatsoever, a bad soap opera for men. It would be difficult to find a more dislikeable group of sociopaths. Utter rubbish

Son's of Anarchy has strayed from narrative substance and rich character development it built over the first 3 seasons. The characters are almost impossible to identify with, as the level of self-destructive tenancies leave the viewer to believe SAMCRO as the most amateur of criminal organisations. Bring back intelligent character driven resolution instead of the reactionary lowest common denominators the viewers are no subjected to. Respect for your viewers will keep them riding with SOA a little bit longer; however at this pace, this season will be my last. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. a mess of a show. too many red herrings setting up whole series. casual racist undertones and a stupid plot about a recovering addict being injected against her will by the main protagonist. the whole show has degenerated into a bunch of glorified scum, solving puzzles like some red neck a team for virgins and racists. the credibility was lost seasons ago and the intrigue is in the dustbin now also. this is not a white sopranos.. this is a juvinile version of the a team, with racist degenerate scum instead of heros. Kurt Sutter's epic tale of an outlaw California motorcycle club launches its fifth season Tuesday with the same visceral intensity that stamped season four.

The second season revealed artistic ambition, reaching for a certain amount of depth in characterization and storytelling. Assessed on that level, the last two seasons have fallen far short of the mark and it seems season five will only repeat the pattern.
