Big Bang is the funniest new sitcom of the season.
  2. With so few traditional sitcoms on the air this year, the new ones had better be good. Happily for viewers, Fox's "Back to You" and CBS's Big Bang Theory qualify as generally welcome newcomers.
  3. It may not be a creative breakthrough, but it's lots funnier than the universal equation would predict.
  4. I didn't get much of a sense where this show was going from the pilot, though there was nothing to hate about Big Bang Theory, and the writing’s every bit as sharp as "Two and a Half Men" and "Dharma & Greg," comedies overseen by Big Bang producer Chuck Lorre.
  5. This is a comedy that does what it's supposed to do, which is to make you smile and giggle at the appropriate points. Be that as it may, the pilot never ascends beyond the level of being cute and nice.

While it's got that professional Burrows sheen of unerrant joke delivery--especially from the talented Galecki, who can do this in his sleep--you have to assume the pile of scripts on his desk in this hurting age for the three-camera studio-audience format isn’t what it once was.

Even if the jokes on this show weren’t tired and mean-spirited, it would be hard to care about any comedy that hates its own lead characters so much.

The people that don't like this show don't understand its more subtle jokes and references, which are almost continual. I honestly wouldn't enjoy it if I didn't appreciate these, although the writers have an amazing fund of nerdy knowledge, so more are probably lost on me as well. The science is surprisingly usually accurate and I'm impressed at the delivery by actors who I am sure aren't always familiar with the content. Expand

I love this show. As a socially awkward science nerd myself, this show really appeals to me. Sheldon is absolutely hilarious... I still can't figure out whether I'm supposed to love him or hate him. Expand

Although it can sometimes feel like jokes are repeated, the show is a shining example of geek culture, full of funny comic, movie and video game references that young people, like me, will lap up. Expand

An eight or a nine- what to give? The Big Bang Theory never fails to amuse. Not only are the main characters genius, but so are the writers. Some of the one-liner quotable quotes of the Big Bang Theory are nothing short of hilarious. In terms of plot and character, this show has room to improve, and I am often annoyed at some of the unresolved endings to story lines, but everything aside, this show is FUNNY. Entertainment of the best kind! Expand

The first series gets off to a shaky start, but as the series gets deeper into the lives of the characters, you get to know them a lot more which helps with the humour in the sitcom. Expand

I tried hard to watch this show based on what everyone else haas said about it, but I couldn't make it past the first part. The laughter was forced and the dialogue was generic almost to overly mishap the relationships between the "nerds." This is bad example of tryingto get the geek culture into mainstream. Expand

terrible show. some of the actors are good but a lot of them are not and they repeat the same jokes every single episode. Not sure how its so popular, completely overrated Expand
