There's nothing original about the series that wasn't already covered in "L.A. Law."

The show benefits from a true insider's feel of the biz, and that helps spackle over the softer spots. Given half a chance, Deep should get along swimmingly.

Honestly, Deep End is the type of high-gloss, dim-bulb broadcast hour that makes you despair for broadcast hours.

I thought that the pilot episode of "The Deep End" was outrageously funny and showed a great amount of potential as a successful television series!

Are you serious? There are WAY worse premiers out there, and as far as they go, this one was actually pretty decent. I am a soldier who has been on several deployments, so I have watched many hours of television in various genres during my down time over the years, and while every show needs to build up a little bit before it becomes a success, I am confident if this one is given a chance it will become so. I'm trying to understand how so many fresh and innovative shows keep getting canceled, but boring, uninteresting ones stay on for years and years? I have typically hated law and cop type shows, save for Castle, Dark Blue, Raising the Bar, Southland, and from what I've garnered from just the premier, The Deep End. I, and many others I know, want to enjoy a show with a little bit less seriousness most of the time. After all, tv IS fiction, lol, and if I wanted to see more serious issues when I get the rare opportunity to relax for a while, I would read the paper twice each day or walk outside the wire more when I am deployed and see the realities of war. But honestly, I would prefer to get away from reliving the day's firefights and watch something even a fraction outrageous just to push the real world to the back of my mind and be drawn into the fake moment for an hour. People, I have one favor to ask. If you don't like the show, don't bury it with your negative comments, because those who do enjoy it may not have the time to gush about it all day long in blogs. Do those who like it a favor and just change the channel to something more to your tastes. I mean, there are more than enough channels out there, so you're bound to find something that is more in line with your particular interests, okay? Thank you. Expand

I've seen much better law shows. This one didn't even seem to try.
