this season was sooo good althougt the "old" caracthers are the ones who shined more, zoey was a to warch (in my opinion) one of the most talked caracthers is mike with mixed opinions but in geral this season was a 7.5/10
This season gave fans what they wanted, more Mike and Zoey. Although it could have been significantly improved upon very easily, it was overall enjoyable.
This is a wired season for me because I love all-stars but Pahkitew is average.
Ranking all the seasons:
season 3 (best)
season 1
season 2
season 5
season 4 (worst)
There are some moments that connect to the story and then there are moments that don't and then there are the moments that make you say "What am I watching". So in fair game TDAS is not bad but it could do better with lazy character development, plot lines that we really need, and of course the writing of Ed MacDonald.
If there's anything to be said, it's that Total Drama All-Stars does no justice to what once made Total Drama so much fun, and is easily the worst season by far. It's so far removed from what made Total Drama Island a great show, and while all of its later seasons have problems TDAS has the feel of something that was out of touch and had no idea to accomplish. While most of the returning guys make sense, several of them do not, and there were far better choices like Harold, LeShawna, Brick, or Dawn to bring back. Most of the stories go nowhere, and a lot of the characters just don't have any point to be in this season. Most of the jokes in this season fall incredibly flat, with a lot of them being childish or just there to abuse the cast, which is taken to new lows here. The character development is terrible, most of the returning guys are unlike themselves and incredibly stupid, and a lot of the original guys look that much worse for it. The villain is obvious and overall a joke, and yet flies right past the cast without even trying, and his defeat is both stupefying and anticlimactic. Most of the season focuses on Mike and Zoey, who seem unstoppable here even though they don't really do anything to earn it. All it is is a repeat of their romance from Revenge of the Island, except much worse as the rest of the cast becomes an afterthought as the season builds up to a very obvious and extremely unfunny finale that screws everybody else over. Chris is insufferable in this season and we have characters like Courtney, Gwen, Sierra, Cameron, and others being derailed. The continuity is a mess, with the season getting a lot of things wrong about the older seasons just to excuse its own choices or for the sake of a bad joke. Worst of all is the final three episodes of the season, which will have you wondering how anyone let them by for what they do to the characters, how unfunny they are, and how badly they conclude the few stories that actually got a focus in this season.
TDAS on a whole is a giant mess, and the terrible character development, the lack of focus or good jokes, and the ridiculous ending make for a season where everything suffered in some way. The result is a season that adds nothing to Total Drama and is far more annoying and aggravating than it is entertaining. I can't find anything to recommend about this season and there is too much wrong with it to make it anything enjoyable. This season was a massive disappointment and too much of it is a great irritation to watch, with too few moments to make up for any of it. The cast was terrible, the stories were terrible, the finale was **** in all, I say just skip this one completely.
On the other hand, do watch Pahkitew Island, as it is much, much better. It handles a lot of its own stuff a lot better and its new cast is pretty good. This one deserves a higher rank, so just skip All-Stars and watch that instead.
