PC Master (Greece)Jun 10, 2013You are an enhanced super-soldier, the ultimate killing machine developed through nanotechnology, and that fact is fleshed out during gameplay- you can do all the things that you would expect you could do. [April 2013]

Feb 19, 2013Crysis 3 got almost everything right. Graphics? Terrific! Level Design? Great, just great.
-
Feb 19, 2013Crysis 3 is stunningly beautiful and will make your video card cry out for joy. Due to mistakes in the past this shooter lacks a good and comprehensive story (and some ground-shaking boss fights), but the fighting mechanics work perfectly, slightly improved by small but suitable changes. Crytek has outdone itself with the creation of a devastated New York that has been reclaimed by nature. This is by far the best looking PC game to date.
-
Mar 8, 2013Crysis 3 is a great FPS. Technically astonishing, it's the best instalment in the Crytek series of warfare games.
-
Mar 1, 2013As expected, the PC version of Crysis 3 is a blast in terms of graphics quality. The single-player is very good, but the real surprise is the multiplayer.
-
Feb 25, 2013Crytek's last work is an excellent product. Crysis 3 on PC offers an awesome gaming experience, thanks to stunning graphics and a fast paced gameplay.
-
Feb 21, 2013In terms of both graphics and gameplay, I honestly can't think of another shooter that does quite what it does. And despite the second-rate plot, Prophet possesses a surprising amount of pathos, especially compared to his voiceless, grunting contemporaries who enjoy near household recognition.
-
Feb 20, 2013Crysis 3, the endcap to the sci-fi shooter trilogy, recaptures the spirit of its source in an all-inclusive package wrought with the best elements from each game. And though it doesn’t necessarily exceed series expectations, it certainly doesn’t betray them, either. The only concession is the compact campaign, but it’s easy to overlook it in light of the game’s accomplishments overall. From its cerebral, open-ended gameplay and lavish visuals to its impressive scale and multiplayer execution, Crysis 3, in all of its careful engineering and design, is certifiably dressed to impress.

CD-ActionFeb 14, 2013This is not only Crytek's best work and the most beautiful PC title to date but also a wonderful good-bye to the current generation of platforms. Crysis finally found its place among Call of Duty, Battlefield and Halo, taking some of their best bits but at the same time remaining distinct enough to be worth your time. You should definitely at least see it. [CD-Action 03/2013, p.44]

Mar 2, 2013As a shooter, Crysis 3 doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but the addition of the Predator Bow makes the stealth game take on new life. For me, the game’s true aim is bringing the adaptability of the Nanosuit to the player. If you’d like to play this game as a shooter, it’ll handle pretty much Crysis 2. If you’d like your games a little quieter, you’ll find the stealth aspects of Crysis 3 to be a vast improvement over the predecessor.
-
Feb 27, 2013On the PC, Crysis 3 is certainly better compared to the console versions, with Cry Engine 3 able to give the game true visual splendor, without asking for exorbitant hardware resources.
-
Feb 25, 2013Crysis 3 comes so close to greatness that it’s a tragedy that it didn’t make it. If the next game focuses a little more on mood-setting moments where the player – gasp – has no way to kill anything at all, then it’ll be the perfect sci-fi shooter.
-
Feb 19, 2013Crysis 3’s evolutionary enhancements don’t move the needle for the series very far, but the core nanosuit-based gameplay is still thrilling. If you have a rig that can run the PC version of Crysis 3, I strongly recommend you go this route. The high-resolution textures, realistic lighting, and detailed facial animations gives you a taste of the graphical fidelity we expect to be standard in next-generation consoles.
-
Feb 19, 2013Naturally the PC version (our test machine was packing two AMD Radeon HD 7970 graphics cards) was the visually superior of the three, thanks to its higher definition, better lighting and textures and all manner of other fog effects and shading employed on the highest graphics settings.
-
Games Master UKFeb 18, 2013Crysis 3 is a supermodel of an FPS. On consoles there's less makeup to conceal the lack of ideas, but on a two-grand PC, the beauty is such that it barely matters. The division is so significant, however, that we suggest knocking a few points off of the score if you're playing on the former. [April 2013, p.74]
-
Feb 28, 2013The single player mission is a tad on the short side (although I have recently played Borderlands 2 and that has a lengthy main story in comparison) and as was the case with the original Crysis, sort of peters out near the end, but the multiplayer modes make up for it.
-
Feb 19, 2013It’s still a terrific, dazzling action experience with a core mechanic that empowers you, and ultimately, this feels more like Crysis 2: Episode 2 than a sequel that deserves your maximum enthusiasm.
-
Mar 4, 2013Crysis 3 is an excellent ending of the series. It follows the previous installments, but because of its lesser experiments and changes it hasn't grown together with them completely. However, when the single-player campaign begins to stumble, there is this entertaining and well-functioning multi-player game with its adequate content of audiovisual orgy.
-
Mar 1, 2013Despite some glitches, this is a very polished game that is drop dead gorgeous and it actually offers a great game beneath the beautiful surface.
-
Feb 27, 2013Crytek ends Prophet's trilogy with a solid shooter that fixes most of Crysis 2's mistakes, but that never fulfills its whole potential.
-
Feb 26, 2013Crysis 3 is a mishmash of Crysis and Crysis 2, which is probably the best thing we could hope for now that the series has to work on aged consoles
-
Feb 22, 2013Maybe it's not an extremely incredible closure for the trilogy, but there are plenty of options to beat every level, it's fun, and the multiplayer modes are finally as engaging as we wanted. And of course visually stunning, with a great job done both on PC and consoles.
-
Feb 20, 2013Crysis 3 is a big, fun summer blockbuster of a game. Sometimes that's all you need and if it's done as well as in this case, all the better. Get in, enjoy the ride, but don't expect to think about it next year. From time to time you have enjoy the now and not think about what could have been. You might miss all the fun that's undoubtedly to be found here.
-
Feb 19, 2013A self-assured but largely unambitious game, content to refine the experience of the previous games in the series without deviating very far from the standard that they set.
-
Feb 18, 2013Crysis 3 is absolutely stunning to look at, far beyond any competition. The gameplay lands somewhere between the two previous Crysis main games and feels heavier than ever, and even the multiplayer impresses. Only bad vehicle physics, cheesy dialogue and over usage of mini games prevent this from being a masterpiece.
-
Feb 27, 2013Crysis 3 is not a bad game by any means, and it is very ambitious in many aspects, but as far as game play and story go, it is not going to impress anyone.
-
Mar 13, 2013The multiplayer hits all the right notes when it comes to gaining experience points, load-out customization, a good mix of game types, etc. so there's plenty for the competitive player to enjoy.
-
Feb 25, 2013Crysis 3 shows that Crytek follows the path from Crysis 2, but tries to incorporate things from the original game. This nod to the gamers deserves some respect, because the developer could have taken the easy route and prepare a completely linear campaign. Still - the mix of open and closed gameplay isn't as good, as one might expect. Even with this grand arsenal of resources the game turned out to be less satisfying than its predecessors. It's not a step forward - it's more of a job well done by talented people, that perhaps were pressured by the market or deadlines.
-
Feb 19, 2013Crysis 3 is stunning to look at, successfully portraying an uneasy partnership of the natural and the artificial. As the story presses on, the conflict deepens and the visuals darken; it's as if you can feel the evil spreading throughout the city. As a piece of technology, Crysis 3 lives up to the series' legacy. As a game, it doesn't reach the same heights.
-
Feb 22, 2013Crysis 3 gives you incredibly detailed, beautiful locations. But the core design is not as modern or progressive as the engine and the AI is far away from standards set by Crytek with their first Far Cry.
-
Mar 15, 2013Take away the graphics and the title, and the game doesn't have many noteworthy aspects. The gameplay is decent but in a very generic way that doesn't differentiate itself from any other shooter on the market. That's depressing, considering the series' roots.
-
PC PowerPlayMar 30, 2013A series we're glad to see come to a close. But if you like games with HEAPS of graphics, or for the multiplayer. [Apr 2013, p.82]
-
Mar 25, 2013It’s hard to believe that this was indeed the result sought by Crytek. This is an absolutely faultless game on a visual level but it fails on virtually all others.
-
Mar 13, 2013Crysis 3 looks stunning and ticks all the right boxes, but the game doesn't do enough to distinguish itself in order to earn the higher marks.
-
Feb 27, 2013It comes off less as a product made of art and design and gameplay and excitement, and more like an entry on a balance sheet, a simple fulfillment of a contract, or a footnote on an investor conference call. I know that both EA and Crytek can do better, and I hope that's their plan for their next project.
-
Feb 26, 2013Crysis 3 is a stunningly beautiful game, which also manages to stand out from your regular shooter thanks to a few tricks up it's sleeve. The nanosuit is truly empowering and the bow is a great addition to the formula, but the game’s stealth elements and AI are simply lackluster, and with such a cliche-filled story there is simply too much to be desired.
-
Feb 25, 2013Crysis 3 follows the path of its predecessor. Visually stunning on consoles and absolutely gorgeous on powerful PCs, Crysis 3 is a true landmark. But despite its sexy outline, this FPS runs out of innovative gameplay and a proper scenario. To sum up, Crysis 3 is a beautiful hollow thing.
-
Feb 21, 2013If it weren’t for the visuals, this would only be an average shooter with a kick-ass bow.
-
Feb 19, 2013It's a beautiful game with jaw-dropping production values. But it took me a few hours to realize how empty Crysis 3 feels. The best thing I can manage to say about it is this: It didn't get in my way. But I would have had more fun if Crysis 3 had put up a fight.
-
Feb 28, 2013A “CryNET Systems 3.0” logo is plastered all over Crysis 3’s menus, but it should’ve said “2.5”. The final instalment in a story of a super soldier versus alien invaders feels like an expansion rather a full-blown sequel. A six-hour long campaign in a familiar setting, one and a half fresh ideas, slightly improved multiplayer. A few years ago studios were more honest when naming their products – take Crysis Warhead, for example.
-
Mar 8, 2013Crysis 3 might look beautiful on PC, but the reality behind those pretty graphics is far less colorful. It simply doesn't run as smoothly as it could and many console-specific choices are too prevalent in the PC-version.
-
Apr 15, 2013While it is technically the best version of Crysis out there, it is really only a slightly better version of Crysis 2’s mechanics and graphics. Because of that, Crysis 3 feels more like an expansion pack to Crysis 2 than a true sequel and more than likely not worth your time.
-
Mar 8, 2013Crytek seem to have this innate ability to forget what made their previous games liked and fail to address any complaints – so with Crysis 3 we once again see poor checkpointing, an abundance of non-human encounters, not so fun shooting, linear enclosed areas, and forgetting about human enemies altogether after the halfway point. Their best looking game yet, but also their weakest.
-
Mar 7, 2013Crysis 3 is a decent set of free-form mechanics trapped, like the New York of its embarrassing sci-fi plot, within the bubble of an all-too-often constricting design.
-
Feb 28, 2013It's serviceable and, again, it looks great on the PC, but was this trip really necessary? It's an average experience, overall, and in a genre that continues to be packed full of competition, you'd probably be better off finding a discounted copy of Crysis 2, or, if the open-world combat of the original Crysis really floats your boat, spend some time with Far Cry 3, instead.
-
Feb 25, 2013Crysis 3 is visually stunning, and it's still fun to jump around in a nanosuit, but the new additions to the gameplay and the lackluster story don't make it very memorable.
-
Feb 25, 2013Crysis 3's campaign disappoints; its story isn't compelling, the storytelling itself doesn't help it, the level design remains an ordinary one, the difficulty is not well-balanced, and overall, there's no real risk taken creatively at any point in it. It's a game of appearances without substance; visually strong, but that's it. The multiplayer kind of saves the deal, most notably thanks to the Hunter mode.
