May 16, 2020Utterly forgettable, I am a fan of the genre but I had forgotten I even played this until I saw some screenshots. However, it is pretty.
There is a sequel. That one is better -

Dec 20, 2015Another game that is great to look at, yet quickly forgotten due to its bland story and unremarkable characters.
The good:
- Superb backgrounds.
The bad:
- Animations
- Lack of atmospheric sounds. In fact, just a lack of atmosphere.
- Rhythm and clarity of the storytelling.
- English translation and acting. -
Sep 24, 2015A decent point & click adventure in a fantasy setting. The protagonist could be a little more likable, but overall it is a good-looking, good-sounding adventure with decent plot and logical puzzles.

Sep 13, 2015It was the best game i have ever played! I am a man but it literally made me cry in the end. I have never experienced such a beautiful story that i have felt to be a part of the whole time throughout the story.
I have played a lot of point and click games but this game takes the crown. Extremely pleased with it.
Simply a masterpiece! -
Sep 16, 2014The Dark Eye is a picture book that the player clicks through, and not much of a game. Sometimes this can be okay, but all of the Daedalic titles seem to have bland stories and bad writing. Maybe this studio is targeting some kind of European audience, but I lost interest after a half hour of nothing happening.

May 27, 2014This is old school point and click adventure with nice story from The Dark Eye universum. I really liked art work which is beautiful. But animation could be little bit smoother. Story is little bit more fairy tale then dark fantasy as we are used in The Dark Eye.

Apr 13, 2014How did this get so many good reviews? I gave it half an hour before deciding not to waste my time as well as my money. I have enjoyed dozens of adventure games including plenty that were made 10+ years before this and are still vasty superior to its cheap 2d images and laggy menus. Avoid

Nov 23, 2013The game is pretty enjoyable. The riddles are pretty challenging sometimes and the scenery is beautiful, as well as the story. The downsides are the performance problems and a bug that made it impossible to proceed near the end of the game.

Nov 21, 2013One of Daedalic's best works; gorgeous art and interesting story. The characters are well developed and likable. Most puzzles are straightforward, and a couple are really amusing. Every fan of P/C Adventures should give this a try and also a good game to get into the genre.

Nov 17, 2013As point & click adventure games go this is one of the best! The puzzles are fairly straght forward and locical which means the game and story flows!!

Oct 26, 2013For lovers of point-and-click. The tone is moving and the story, although a bit obvious sometimes, is catchy. Graphics and music are beautiful. The story lacks a little bit of depth, for which you have to wait until the last part of the game, probably the best. The locations are a bit repetitive and I wish there was more of them, more beautiful art.
Bad: some glitches, hard puzzles are rare. -
Aug 12, 2013I love that game! great backrounds, great story and a very great puplisher! A must have for all Point and Click Adventurefans. And with the Dark eye setting it is perfekt!

Pelit (Finland)Oct 14, 2012Chains of Satinav is a perfect substitute for a storybook. Absolutely beautiful hand-drawn art is combined with a predictable story and some clumsy dialogue, but the overall melancholic feel of a imaginary kingdom on the brink of it's demise make up for these angularities. It's hard to get any closer of an fairytale. Some puzzles are genius, but there are loads of boring logistic tasks too. [Sept 2012]

PC PowerPlaySep 16, 2012Slow and meandering but gently enjoyable. [Sept 2012, p.54]

Sep 6, 2012A breathtakingly beautiful and inspiring adventure that no matter its faults, offers a wonderful experience to the fans of adventure games.
