Titanfall 2 is a masterpiece of game design that breathes life into the first-person shooter genre and treats its audience with respect.

Titanfall 2 is a major surprise. I was expecting to love the multiplayer and to tolerate the campaign, but I love everything about it. Respawn isn’t just making Call of Duty with mechs. It has found its own way, and that has paid off with a special game.

Respawn combined their prowess in the FPS genre with the good parts of the first Titanfall, greatly improved upon them and released a monumental online shooter, re-defining the genre yet again. The non-stop action of the multiplayer matches is unparalleled, while the Campaign is cinematic, stirs emotion and the only downside is its short duration. Lest we forget, all future multiplayer maps will be free for everyone, keeping the community unified and not splitting it, like we were used to with all the Season Passes that came before.

A brilliant singleplayer campaign married to inventive, skill-intensive multiplayer that calls back to FPS classics of old.

By addressing the biggest criticisms of the first game, Respawn has managed to improve an already great shooter. Fast-paced, electric single-player campaign along with a full-featured multiplayer has made Titanfall 2 a must play for shooter fans.

The 2nd installment of the Titanfall series continues down the right path yet again. It is truly one of the best First Person Shooters of this generation.

It’s the most enjoyable shooter I’ve played in a long, long time, a brilliant mix of different flavors that you simply need to try. [13/2016, p.52]

A logical evolution of the formula, Titanfall 2 is everything we wanted from the original game and more, a solid foundation that will be built upon for months to come.

Titanfall 2 is the complete shooter package in a way that Titanfall wasn’t back in 2014. The fantastic campaign now complements the comprehensive multiplayer package. Factor in the free post launch support and it’s difficult to argue that Titanfall 2 is the unsung hero of the holiday rush.

The improvements to the game are much needed, the single player campaign is one of the best I have played this year and as we draw to the close of 2016 I am almost 100% sure that no one will be able to top it, but I am more than willing to be proved wrong! Graphics are fantastic and a treat to the eyes, game modes have increased overall for multiplayer but there is the occasional hit and miss. Also… You CAN hack specters in multiplayer! I don’t know WHY so many people are saying you can’t!

Titanfall 2 has succeeded in surpassing the original title in every way. It delivers an emotional, action-packed single player experience that will leave fans new and old feeling satisfied, and the fluid combat mechanic both in and out of one’s titan packs plenty of punches and doesn’t hold back when it comes to the visceral brutality of pilot warfare.

It’s rare that a sequel evolves on every part of the original concept so consistently for the better, but Titanfall 2 is that exception.
  15. Titanfall 2 is pushing the limits of players with fast game mechanics. If you're looking for a fast paced shooter, you should definitely give a try To Titanfall 2, before going for other products.

Respawn Entertainment's new game is worthy of recommendation. The single-player campaign is a welcome and well made addition. On the other hand, multiplayer has been altered in a minimal way but that's ok - if it works well don't "fix" it. Simply put, Titanfall 2 is one of the best shooters around. Period.

Respawn did a remarkable job on the campaign, which is bristling with ideas and cool moments. The experience may be short, but it’s entertaining none the less. Online though is where Titanfall 2 really shines. The game offer some of the most insane, fast-paced shootouts, packed to the brim with wallrunning, explosions and mighty titans. Prepare for one hell of a ride.

Titalfall 2 is exactly what we wanted two years ago: a full game that is very entertaining and offers the interesting addition of Titans. The singleplayer is short but sweet and the multiplayer is even better than in the excellent first Titanfall.

Overall, Titanfall 2 takes the great ideas of its predecessors and expands upon them to create a far superior experience. While the campaign is a little short, it’s still a lot of fun and incredibly replayable.

Despite the fact, that there is quite a lot of things to criticize on Titanfall 2, it is still a great online action, this time with a full-size campaign that does not look like a pitiful burden. [Issue #269]

The first Titanfall is a solid execution on a great idea. Titanfall 2 feels much closer to reaching that idea's full potential. It's clear that Respawn labored over every tiny detail, from the powerful sound of each gunshot to the convincing sense of weight present in every titan step. The level of effort pays off tremendously, creating a shooter that can compete with the stiffest competition. It's too bad the campaign never comes close to the overall level of quality that some of its best ideas hint at, but the multiplayer will likely keep you happy until Respawn decides it's time for a much deserved third entry.

Shallow story, but a colorful and funny singleplayer successfully works as a bonus for the excellent multiplayer part. Titanfall 2 expands and enhances everything from the first game and easily ranks among the best shooters nowadays.

Titanfall 2 offers the complete package: a solid, inventive single-player campaign that manages to avoid being yet another cover shooter with respawning enemies, combined with a frenetic and unique multiplayer mode.

As ridiculous as it sounds, Titanfall 2 is more down-to-Earth than most AAA shooters. There are still big explosions and unrelenting death, but rather than focusing on those, some sincere moments between Cooper and BT rise to the surface.

Titanfall 2 is worth playing, but it's not a must-play game right now. The two levels that I think will influence game design for years to come--they'll still be there next year. But therein lies the rub--with a playerbase split over multiple pointless variants of team deathmatch and a handful of other standard multiplayer modes, the population might not be there next year when you get it.

Short, but enjoyable single-player campaign blending Shogo, Portal 2 and Mirror's Edge compliments the familiar multiplayer, which is equally fun and infuriating.

The multiplayer is as unique as ever, and the addition of a single-player campaign (however brief) helps to pad out the game and give its best ideas more room to breathe. Not everything works—least of all the writing—but if nothing else Respawn proves it’s a studio willing to experiment, to push boundaries in a way Battlefield and Call of Duty largely stopped doing years ago.

Titanfall's second outing has more to offer than the original, but the novelty's worn off a bit and the singleplayer campaign waffles between brilliant and boring.

  1. In multiplayer, Titans feel like an actual godsend at times, screaming down from the heavens as they do like avenging angels. They’re improved since the first game, as is everything else, more flexible and yet more focused at the same time.

Multiplayer is painfully similar to Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, they've even made mechs far weaker and the pilots movement slower and more clunky meaning it feels far more like CoD than the first game did.
