Feb 15, 2022The continual design evolution of one project split over three full games and dozens of expansions makes me hesitant to call Warhammer III a landmark strategy game in its own right. But looking back now at that very first trailer, it does feel like a promise kept.
-
Feb 14, 2022An essential play for any fans of the strategy genre, Warhammer 3 is quite possibly the best Total War entry to date. Bigger, better, and bloodier than its predecessors, this conclusion delivers everything that fans were asking for – and then some.
-
Mar 1, 2022Keeping its solid mechanics intact, improving multiplayer and offering 8 factions out of the gate, Warhammer III provides a complete offering on the most advanced forms of the Total War series.
-
Feb 15, 2022Warhammer 3 is hands down the best Total War ever made. Despite some issues, some of them concerning diplomacy, the many new features and factions largely offset the problems of the game.
-
Feb 14, 2022Total War: Warhammer III is sheer fun. Not a particularly deep game, nor a very innovative one, but a game capable of doing what it's meant to do: to provide an enjoyable framework for spectacular, breathtaking fantasy battles.
-
Feb 14, 2022While it does have some notable flaws, namely a somewhat messier campaign progression, Total War: Warhammer III still manages to impress. With multiple factions and legendary lords to choose from, along with a plethora of improvements to existing mechanics, you're bound to have one hell of a good time.
-
Feb 14, 2022As the culmination of the Total War: Warhammer trilogy, the story-focused approach combined with massive multiple-part battles feels like the right thing to do. While aspects can make you feel rushed, this is undeniably intentional as you're in a race against all other factions on the map, and the more I play it, the more I like it. The battles feel genuinely epic, with even regular ones seeing significant improvement thanks to excellent design. AI improvements on the campaign map, combined with the unique features of factions, also add another layer to the game. There are a few niggles here and there; the AI has issues during battles. Corruption on the campaign map also feels imbalanced, but while these can be irritating (corruption mainly), they are minor issues in the grand scheme. All in all, Total War: Warhammer III is an excellent game.
-
Mar 8, 2022Total War: Warhammer 3 is the perfect culmination to a trilogy of generally excellent games. The third installment has both a must-play prologue and story campaign that is fast-paced and takes the gameplay in new directions. Long after the campaign is over, quality of life improvements and the new setting guarantee a long life for single-player skirmishes and multiplayer games. Total War: Warhammer 3 is a winner for both casual and hardcore Warhammer fans or any real-time strategy player looking for a game with depth.
-
Mar 4, 2022Even though it’s not a perfect game, Total War: Warhammer 3 is indeed very close to the ultimate Total War experience. The diverse factions, the epic campaign and the vast, beautiful world are guaranteed to draw you in and keep you in for at least a few hundred hours.
-
Feb 28, 2022A perfect finale to the Warhammer trilogy. It will entertain not only the fans of the Old World, but everyone who appreciates the Total War series and is eager to experience battle on a truly epic scale.
-
Feb 16, 2022Deep, complex, and approachable, Total War Warhammer III is an intense, engaging triumph.
-
Feb 15, 2022An inspired ending to the Warhammer trilogy that rather than just adding new factions makes a host of clever additions and changes to the gameplay and structure, in what is one of the great achievements in modern strategy gaming.
-
Feb 14, 2022An incredible abundance of mechanisms and factions to play and replay with in this new installment of the saga. Total War: Warhammer III welcomes veterans and new players alike with a beautiful new engine and their choice of weapons. Here we go again, for hundreds of hours more.
-
Feb 14, 2022Total War: Wahammer 3 closes a trilogy that is one of the best adaptations ever made to the strategy genre. An ambitious title that presents a huge and spectacular campaign along with multiple multiplayer options, while introducing important new features that significantly affect the development of the game. An excellent title for the genre that will delight fans of its universe.
-
Feb 14, 2022The crown jewel of the trilogy, fresh and creative. Evil is rising, Good is dying but the ingenious campaign structure ensures there’s fun to be had for everyone. Well, except those of you who really like bears.
-
Feb 14, 2022Creative Assembly goes big with this final outing of the Warhammer trilogy. For veterans, it offers large amounts of content, most notably a total of eight playable races as well as an enhanced diplomacy system. However, it is also the first Total War game that considers new players by giving them a lengthy prologue campaign for learning the ropes. The game is still difficult though and suffers in parts from weak AI. Nevertheless, it is an amazing new title for the series – for newcomers and veterans alike.
-
Feb 14, 2022Total War: Warhammer III is essential for those who enjoyed the first two chapters, because it concludes the experience in a spectacular way.
-
Feb 14, 2022Creative Assembly and Games Workshop have not slipped right on the final and Total War: Warhammer III is the perfect conclusion of the trilogy, as well as a clear step forward for the whole brand.
-
Feb 14, 2022If Total War Warhammer 3 is the beginning of the end for Creative Assembly's fantasy series, then it's going out on a high note. The game takes several steps forward in how the campaign works, how it builds toward climactic battles and then how those battles take place, and there's plenty of quality of life improvements for the Total War series as a whole.
-
Feb 14, 2022A brilliant final act with the series' most inventive and unusual factions yet.
-
Feb 14, 2022Total War: Warhammer 3’s single-player mode presents us with a tense, challenging, multilayered campaign driven along by a compelling story and a memorable cast of rivals. The Chaos Realms cleverly draw these larger-than-life figures together, so even those from remote corners of the world will be able to test each other's mettle. And while the size of the faction list currently feels a bit disappointing coming from Mortal Empires, all of the newly introduced factions are inventive and just plain fun on the campaign and battle maps. The true test of Warhammer 3 is still to come, when we'll get to play with all the factions from all three games on the massive combined map. But even if that's the main reason you're interested in it, there's plenty of excitement to be had already.
-
Feb 14, 2022New features, factions, and gameplay options make Total War: Warhammer 3 a must-play strategy game. Lacking blood at launch was expected, but still disappointing.
-
Feb 14, 2022Total War: Warhammer III is a great conclusion to a great trilogy.
-
Feb 14, 2022Total War: Warhammer 3 makes it easy to lose countless hours spilling blood across its lush fields and rugged mountains, even before its Mortal Empires campaign inevitably turns it into a behemoth of a game. If you’re even remotely interested in the series or Warhammer Fantasy, this is one you won’t want to miss.
-
Feb 14, 2022A triumphant step forward for Total War on almost every front, boasting not just the best and most diverse single-player campaigns ever, but a revolution in multiplayer too.
-
Feb 14, 2022Total War: Warhammer 3 represents a giant bow on a gift Creative Assembly has been working on for years and is sure to be a can’t miss for Total War and Warhammer buffs alike. Will it change minds for those who bounced off the series in the past? Not really, but this one is for the fans, and I’d wager most folks would be delighted to receive this kind of attention for their favorite IP.
-
Mar 18, 2022Total War: Warhammer III is a fantastic game, with some great factions, brilliant production value, and some much welcome quality of life improvements. However, the game at launch is rather buggy and the main campaign might be too narrative heavy for some.
-
Feb 14, 2022As the final work of the Total War: Warhammer series, Total War: Warhammer III not only brings a lot of new content, but also improves and perfects the original content, which makes it the game with the best experience among Total War series so far. However, the slightly boring mid-to-late process, the occasional vicious bugs and other "old problems" left the game with some room for improvement. All in all, in a world where RTS is scarce, Total War: Warhammer III is a great choice for both long-time fans of the Total War series and newcomers to the Chinese-style camp of Cathay.
-
Feb 14, 2022Total War: Warhammer 3 is a brilliant conclusion to the Warhammer trilogy, just missing a little more polish in the campaign.
-
Feb 14, 2022This is a great end for the trilogy, that improves every single aspect whilst adding a large amount of content to keep us busy for hundreds of hours.
-
Feb 14, 2022Total War: Warhammer III is a rich title, full of deep mechanics and that will keep you glued to the screen for dozens of hours, prey to the classic mantra "another turn and then cut". The strategic proposal of the Creative Assembly guys requires dedication and patience, especially if you are new to the saga, but once you have fully understood the mechanics you will find yourself a playful experience capable of offering large doses of satisfaction. With an effective formula consistent with the standards of the series, supported by a highly respected graphics sector, the latest work by the English studio therefore proves to live up to expectations, as well as fully supporting the heavy legacy of the Warhammer brand.
-
Feb 14, 2022Total War: Warhammer 3 is the epic conclusion to a trilogy that has elevated the Creative Assembly formula.
-
Feb 16, 2022Total War: Warhammer III wrapped up this saga with a colossal and quintessential experience, that feels like the end of this world. Hands down, it's the best one in the franchise and one of the 2022 Game of the Year contenders.
-
Mar 25, 2022Total War: Warhammer 3 is a uniquely complex game, mildly overwhelming with the diversity of features and options it offers, each adding their own nuances to gameplay. Any strategy or RPG lover will find something to enjoy in this game, from memorable cast of characters to massive army battles and sieges.
-
Mar 8, 2022Creative Assembly has done a great job with the final entry in the series. I am really enjoying Total War: Warhammer III, but it may not be for everyone since specific mechanics, like the spawning chaos gates, could become tedious for some players as the campaign progresses. The story could also not resonate with some players. I personally have enjoyed the prologue and campaigns, but I could see it missing the mark depending on how interested someone is in the daemons and the Choas Gods. The game does have some technical problems, and I am a touch disappointed with parts of the enemy AI. But the single-player story, new features, and solid multiplayer offerings are top-notch. If you are a fan of the previous games or this genre, this is a must-play title.
-
Mar 6, 2022Total War: Warhammer III is the perfect finale.
-
Feb 28, 2022Let's be clear, the Total War series is still going strong with Warhammer III. There is no upheaval in the gameplay, but there are good, very good ideas to keep us going on the game. The emphasis has been placed on role-playing and the universe, as for the precedents Total War: Warhammer and the scenario of the campaign imposes a breathless rhythm which works wonders. The few technical problems do not spoil the party. If you are a fan of Total War combat or the Warhammer license, you will love it.
-
Feb 21, 2022Another solid entry into the franchise in what should be the exciting conclusion of the trilogy. Blood for the Blood God and all that good stuff!
-
Feb 18, 2022Total War: Warhammer III is an excellent addition to the series and forms a great conclusion to the epic Warhammer trilogy. It has intriguing mechanics and gorgeous visuals, and it comes with a great variety of units, factions, and heroes, along with plenty of engaging battles. If you enjoy the Total War franchise and go in for a bit of Warhammer lore, this is an engaging experience with a lot of variety, and is not to be missed.
-
Feb 18, 2022Total War: Warhammer 3 is the conclusion of the Warhammer cycle for a saga initiated 22 years ago. Without upsetting the fundamentals, this new Total War is the culmination of the saga with a game that is deeper than ever (with the possibility to play peacefully), very rich in content with eight factions (and as many campaigns) while having a neat and optimized technical part.
-
Feb 14, 2022Warhammer III successfully continues to present the blend of strategic gameplay and popular fantasy world with new races and a decent story.
-
Feb 14, 2022Total War: Warhammer 3 is the crowning achievement of the trilogy, and a game that will likely stay with us for years to come. It’s certainly not the end of the franchise, and even if it is the last entry in the sub-series, the conclusion couldn’t have been better.
-
Feb 14, 2022The Games Workshop franchise is particularly well-suited to Total War, which gets rid of its realistic and historical aspect to become crazier. Fantastic spells and demonic creatures are present, and it works well. In addition, Total War Warhammer 3 has the merit of offering us a quality scripted prologue, just to welcome novices as it should.
-
Feb 14, 2022Total War: Warhammer III offers the incredible depth synonymous with the series, while adding expansive new multiplayer features and some great faction mechanics.
-
Feb 14, 2022Total War: Warhammer 3 is everything you could possibly have wanted from a sequel to the prior two games. The game's selection of factions flips many of its core mechanics on its head, and each is fun to play in its own right. Sieges are tense and exciting in equal measure, and while they can lead to some tactical blunders, it feels like the best version of the system yet. If you're yet to jump into a Total War: Warhammer title, this is the one to try, and if you have, you'll want to stay in the Realms of Chaos indefinitely.
-
Game World Navigator MagazineOct 19, 2022Selling Ogres as a separate Day-1 DLC is definitely an anti-consumer practice, AI would be best described as “braindead", and some mechanics only work because of duct-tape solutions like “background income”. Yet, CA has managed to capture that certain “je ne sais quoi” of Warhammer: every faction plays differently, but they all feel awesome. [Issue#259, p.42]
-
Feb 14, 2022Creative Assembly stays true to Total War's series core - and that’s not to be understood negatively. It guarantees a strategy adventure with dozens of hours of exciting gameplay that brings some interesting new additions to the table: The hunt for the four demon souls. A racethrough the Chaos Realms that offers new dynamics to the Warhammer battlefield.
-
Edge MagazineMar 24, 2022We're ready to see what the future holds for The Creative Assembly after Total War. We're also, however, delighted by the studio's seemingly indefatigable ability to bend its own rules and brew up new playstyles, as it brings one of gaming's greatest licensed adaptations to a thunderous conclusion. [Issue#370, p.114]
-
Mar 23, 2022Total War: Warhammer 3 is the perfect example of a sequel done well. All the elements of both Total War and Warhammer universe fused into a game of epic proportions. Some innovation in the variety of missions as well bring a bit more freshness in the gameplay. Graphics as usual stunning, with scenery that looks like frescos.
-
Feb 27, 2022Total War: Warhammer III is a true gift to any fans of Total War series and Warhammer franchise. It's not a revolutionary game, but the one with many unique features and deep interconnected lore. Sadly, optimization is far from the best, and if you look at Rome II it can definitely sour the whole experience.
-
Feb 25, 2022Total War: Warhammer III's extensive campaign and additional multiplayer features will keep you as a player busy for a long time. The strategic gameplay is also in this new part very strong, which is partly due to the good balance between the factions, supplemented with new gameplay elements. That said, for now you must take into account a poor performance and a somewhat unstable online service, which will surely be fixed. Graphically it is not impressive, but fortunately the gameplay makes up for that.
-
Feb 23, 2022The third entry in this astounding rts-franchise builds on everything we loved about the second. Total War: Warhammer 3 is a love-letter to the Old World and the fantasy genre, and even though we have some gripes with the campaign, we have to take a bow for Creative Assembly.
-
Feb 14, 2022Ultimately, it’s a great game that will almost inevitably become even better with time, but the launch package won’t disappoint fans of either franchise involved. Especially Warhammer Fans are in for a treat, with new lore and new heroes providing a ray of hope for a better future after quite a few bleak years.
-
Feb 14, 2022With an entertaining selection of factions, an interesting new game mode, and great onboarding, Total War: Warhammer 3 is a grand strategy well worth the time.
-
Feb 14, 2022Just like any top-tier strategy game, it’s easy to get lost in Total War: Warhammer III, losing hours, days and weekends to waging war on settlements in The Old World.
-
Feb 14, 2022Total War Warhammer 3 is a gift to its fans, a fitting send-off to the trilogy. The real going-away party arrives whenever Mortal Empires shows up, but for now, you can delve into the twisted Chaos Realm and get lost in sprawling battles and text-heavy menus, like any Total War fan.
-
Feb 14, 2022Total War Warhammer III is a nice final episode even if it doesn't revolutionize the license. The new factions offer a lot of possibilities to play differently and this is a very good point in a Total War episode. The multiplayer is totally transformed through the end of the turn-based game and it's surely one of the most important positive points of the game.
-
Feb 14, 2022Warhammer 3 is, frankly, an incredible package. It somehow manages to deliver multiple unique and satisfying campaigns, mostly without sacrificing their quality and depth in the process. Campaign and combat are expertly balanced – demanding but fair – with enough variety to make playing more than one faction worthwhile. More variety would be welcome in both faction characteristics and map design, but Warhammer 3 is still one of the most gratifying strategy games in recent years.
-
Feb 14, 2022Total War: Warhammer III is a spectacle of a Total War game. While it doesn't do much in the way of micromanaging and even defaults on optimization, it offers some truly spectacular moments and epic campaigns whether you're playing as the humans or invading chaos monsters.
-
Feb 14, 2022Though it may show the design limitations of the franchise’s aging engine, Total War: Warhammer 3 is a solid conclusion to CA’s foray into fantasy.
-
Mar 27, 2022Α solid conclusion to a refreshing franchise that will show its full potentional after all the correcting patches and the DLCs become available.
-
Feb 22, 2022With high system requirements and with the absence of Mortal Empires bundled with attractive battles, Total War Warhammer 3 is at least a solid experience for the fans. Providing that they like playing their games in 20fps on mid to high-range PCs.
-
Oct 6, 2022If the "Total War" series had been a cow, PETA would have been at the door a long time ago. That's how milked she is. When you're not fighting, you're trying to build your empire. This part of the game combines both the best and worst of Total War: on the one hand, the factions you can play differ substantially and all offer a different experience; on the other, after a strong start, the campaign collapses like a pudding. You focus mainly on one powerful army, so the overall overview disappears somewhat from view. Too bad.
-
Mar 2, 2022Warhammer 3 opens strongly. The narrative hook of the prologue sinks deep and the raft of tweaks to the strategic layer and tactical battles are all welcome. But it can't sustain the early momentum. The endgame objectives feel like a distraction, even though they're the main point, and serve only to diminish the entire campaign. The factions all have different reasons for wanting the endgame MacGuffin, but none of those motivations make a difference to how the campaign plays out. They're all trapped in the same Chaos Realm, going through the same motions, in pursuit of the same unsatisfying win conditions. In the end, Total War: Warhammer 3 is a good game--there just isn't a good reason to see it through to the bitter end.

Feb 14, 2022Total War: Warhammer 3 maintains the good vibes from the previous game and it offers a great strategy experience in Warhammer's world. [Recommended]
-
Feb 14, 2022Warhammer 3 is Creative Assembly's most maximalist, chaotic, and arguably best game to date. But it'll ask a lot of you in return. [Eurogamer Recommended]
-
Feb 14, 2022In so many ways this is the best Total War game ever made, the latest example of a series that has spent the last 3-4 big releases (we don’t talk about the Saga games here) successfully refining a decades-old formula to keep it fresh and interesting. It’s a shame, then, that having come so far in so many respects this time around, Warhammer III stumbles right where it matters most: at the end.
-
Feb 14, 2022It’s the equivalent of walking into a Games Workshop for the first time as a child and having your eyes roll back into your head from the sheer awe of the place. A thousand boxes, a hundred armies, dozens and dozens of different little bits and bobs. A whole wall of rulebooks! It’s not the most understated of hobbies; and there’s never been anything subtle about a 12-inch figurine that’ll set you back 80 quid. It’s rampant maximalism, is what it is, but it’s also bloody good fun. And it’s hard to imagine a better video game translation of Warhammer Fantasy and all of its large-scale mayhem than this weird, sprawling, endlessly fascinating thing they’ve dubbed Total War: Warhammer 3. And to think, at some point, Creative Assembly will release a brand new “Immortal Empires” campaign, which will feature all three maps and every faction from all three games, all twisting and turning in on themselves and curling at the corners of the world. Now that sounds like Chaos.
-
Feb 14, 2022The colour palette of Tzeentch’s realm would be worth a paragraph on its own. There are fully customisable Daemon Princes, which you can give beaks and tentacles purely for your own amusement. I’ve not even been able to spare more than a sentence for my beloved, dreadful ogres. And still, as I said at the outset, this is not even the final form of Total War: Warhammer. It’s just the game’s impossibly hench arse, being winched into place by a rickety crane, before Creative Assembly brings the monster to life and, with a hearty roar, it eats the rest of my year.
